Who says you can't sprint at Vanderbilt or jump or throw. They have the facilities and its a world class university. Other elite academic institutions have had All Americans and conference champions in sprints...such as Harvard, Duke, Notre Dame and Stanford. Its ridiculous to think because the head coach's speciality is or isn't the previous strong event group doesn't mean that they will or won't be strong in any event group they choose going forward...especially if you have the facilities for all event groups.

Althea may be fantastic. But Vandys only shot at relevance in the SEC and NCAA is through a niche. Distance is the obvious one.
There’s zero chance of them out recruiting A&M, Georgia, LSU, etc. in sprints.
