Henry,
Unfortunately, I will not be there Sunday. I wish you a fine race and look forward to hearing about the results.
Run hard and enjoy it!
Orville
Henry;
I'm glad you liked my idea for a book name and cover. Is this for the book which is almost done, or for book #2?
Also, this weekend was the Master's National Indoor Track Championships. You would have done well in the mile:
M55 1 Mile Run
=======================================================================
Name Age Team Finals Points
=======================================================================
1 Shaheed, Nolan M57 So Cal Track,Pasade 4:46.00
2 Allison, Michael M55 Club Northwe,Seattle 5:14.00
3 Sheehan, Jim M57 unattached,Ham Lake 5:17.93

Best of luck in your 5K at Carlsbad! Michael Allison often runs that race- he could give you a good pace for sub-18:00.

1600 Metres.
400m=81.07
800m=2:46
1200m=4:11
1600m=5:31.89
The first lap was too fast,I needed the pace in the end my left hipp acted up in the last 150 metres to go, I was dragging my left leg.You can see it.There is a sharp pain now and I'm going to massage it and ice it up to night.To readyn the next day work assignments
Solomon Kandie and Kris Houghton did their time trials too.Their improvement is great too by alot.
Solomon time:3:53.26 while Kris time:4:02.76
400m=61
800m=2:03
1200m=3:06
close it with their final times are at above:
They are more please today;however, Kris felt as I did in the upper body breathing hard and coughing so bad may spring fever and allagie.
The training is coming so well.We didn't climbe the copper hill today,perhaps, why we are coughing so bad.
In my exercise physiology we were suppose to do warm in the morning before tinme trials.But I wanted them to learn something from their bodies today without hill warm up in the morning.
We have a small supports of social sports community here in Albuquerque Academy Track. We normally meet throughout the week nowdays.
Along side us are the middle schoolers running along side,while the parents cheering us.
Everybody are happy after hard workout with good results.Not only athletes could see good, also feel for good results are the people around us.
Running is the light for all of us, believe it or not.
I thank Coach Richard Dafter for introduce me to people, who are into running in this sports community.

This is for # 2 book in which it will come out as soon as I break the master mile record.
My first book 'Olympic Dream' this one should be out in May,2007.
I hope you understand my point now.My journey to back into running again should have the theme of the story and that is why I was discussing with you fellows.What could the right title of the book that is coming up at the end of my journey.
Henry
Henry: If your hip is sore today from your mile time trial TAKE TOMORROW OFF! You don't want to start having chronic hip problems. They can be a real pain. Take it easy tomorrow. Ice it and rest.
That's what I thought. Thanks and take care of that hip!

I know you mean well, and I too was a bit alarmed when Henry mentioned a sharp pain, but I'm confident that Henry knows his body better than any of us does. If Henry believes that he needs to rest, then he will rest.

Could you let him know I will be there on Thursday March 29 noon and to call me on my cell.or email me.
That way I will do it right this time.I dont want to go as Cincinnati December meet.Where I didn't know ,who was my pace marker.I ended up following some guy by mistake, until I felt the pain in my chest.In other words my body was telling, "stop you dummy you are following the wrong person."He was running on a 5 minutes pace,he looks as the guy as I'm suppose to follow. I wasn't ready for that kind of running pace.I did look stupid that day.

Henry,
I just wrote a message saying that you know your body better than any of us does, and now I find out that you were trying to keep up with some guy who was running 5-minute mile pace at that race in December!
Henry;
I will contact Michael tomorrow and see if he is running it and what his plans are.
Do you still have your masseuse? I suggest that he work on loosening up your hip annd hamstrings soon, so that you will be 100% next weekend.

Yeah! I do> in fact I got one last night,he went straight deep-down to the tendon muscles along to the hamstring wow! it was so painful it took me a while to sleep because it is itching and still is now.The pain is souring up until this point in time.I'm planning for whirlpool and run in the water-pool today.I would not be able to follow the youngsters this morning due to this issue.I need to get ready for carlsbad as you know at this age my recovery is very slow.I have to be very smart than a young body runner.
You are right it is along those hamstring muscles to the glutius maximus down to lliotibial tract and that of semitendinosus together with Biceps femoris muscles.All of that is pulling-down to walk so funny
Yeah Stay tune for the up coming events and my stress recovery muscles.

I understand what you are saying;however,racing for me and training are two different things.
I'm working on long-term memory to understand the short-term in which this body is belong to as an old man.
Holding back the horses is not that easy their mentally ready,when their bodies are not.
This is who I am now;however, we are both learning in this journey and discussing does help many eyes to see.
This exploration leads us to a new discovery of running.
Stay tune and dont be shy to say what you know.

I'm glad that you are taking care of this problem. I want you to be happy and healthy when you go out to Carlsbad!
Someone else on letsrun.com mentioned an article about you in today's Los Angeles Times. Here's the link:
http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-crowe26mar26,1,1452093.story?coll=la-headlines-sportsI just opened my paper Henry. It is a great article with a great picture. It is a 5 inch by 3 inch head shot in color. Hey, you seem to look a little older than you did in the 1970s. You are on your way! Congratulations!
I live in L.A. and was glad to see the article on you in today's L.A. Times. Of course, we at Letsrun.com and other track and field fans know of your story and the triumph you have achieved coming from the darkness to the light and now the beginning of your masters career; but this is GOOD exposure to other casual fans and potential sponsors and promoters. The L.A. Times has a large circulation.
Take it very carefully with your sore hip. If you try to run through hip pain it will only get worse. Take vitamin C ; it helps speed the healing process.

I like the article;however,the camera guy took more time taking photos than the reporters.
Sit here like this,stand this way,put your head up like this, look up here on my hand,cross your legs this way, and cross your hands like this.On and on....
It was more than I have ever done with a camera reporter since I have been a runner.
Is this going to be a movie?
Yeah,I told them I dont teach this year and since I know how to teach ,I will be way better to put my classroom in the middle of the running field, teach running and run away from alcoholism problems and feel better for yourself.

I just bought a couple of extra papers. I will send you the page.
