2024 California HS XC CIF

Do they look at the merge or total time? I was under the impression it was total team time, but I'd be happy to learn differently

Agreed, giving the edge to JSerra for the 3rd place overall spot.

Unfortunately for them, 18:56 and 19:16 for Santiago’s 4&5 is going to score A LOT of points in the merge.

Pretty sure it's placing in the merge to start to determine the top 4 placers and then team time to determine if at large's are warranted or not for the 3/4 place teams in the merge.

Assuming Santiago doesn’t make it (but I have no clue) for the individual girls, it’s looking to be:

Dailey

Blade

Abigail Errington

Sadie

Braelyn Combe

But I have no clue if Dailey is going or if Santiago is going to make it/get an at large.

Menlo’s dominating D5 at mile 1 but their 5th man is pretty far back

Landon Pretre, Eyan Turk, and Ben Bouie all start out the race at 4:43 pace. That 1st mile is so conservative, I'm half expecting them to register Republican.

Wow... I didn't realize this earlier but the Trabuco Hills girls broke the team Woodward park record. Buchanan did as well so they will be 1 and 2

Pretre, Turk, and Bouie out relatively conservative in 4:43

Kind of fun to see so many non-southern section athletes at the front of this race. Nothing against athletes from southern section, just nice to see representation from other sections every now and then

Top three around the same pace as the D2 and D3 leaders now.

I don't think kushen and caldwell will make it. They (d5 boys) look strong right now and at-least 2/3 will pull through

based on the 2 mile marker, menlo might be glendora's time.

The Woodward Park course record will not fall today

Those margins should compress a bit when they do the merge with the top 20 or however many. JSerra might fall victim to how great Trabuco and Buchanan ran and miss out on an at large despite a very good performance.
