Not dangerous? One of Kofuzi’s most popular video with 175K views “How I Fixed My Runner’s Knee” is an absolute pile of garbage and honestly he should be embarrassed it is still up.
Summer of 2020, Kofuzi ran himself into an overuse injury. Long time Kofuzi watchers will remember, Kofuzi was absolutely terrified of the outside world during that time. Instead of doing the proper thing, like going to a doctor, this guy turned to google to not only diagnose himself (Doctor Kofuzi), but then put together a series of exercises to fix his problem (PT Kofuzi).
Any experienced runner knows, rest is the top thing to do once you get an overuse injury. In the video, he briefly mentions the rest part, but most of the 20 minute video is spent talking about the diagnosis and exercises…the part he has zero, and I mean, zero expertise in.
Why is all this bad? Well, you have 1st time marathoners getting to week 15 of a training plan coming down with overuse injuries, frantically searching for any possible quick fix to salvage the effort they put in coming across this nonsense and thinking this is the solution.
This video, much like everything Kofuzi does, is essentially throwing things at a wall and seeing what sticks.
And if any Kofuzi stans are still not clear, the proper thing to do when getting an injury is to visit a medical professional to get proper testing, and then letting someone who knows what they are talking about guide you to recovery.
