Very true. They had prior reason to write tap, and even if they didn't, it certainly doesn't mean Trump and his people are innocent. But this doctored and cherry picked memo just shows the level of desperation of Trump and his team. I am not as confidant as Flagpole that justice will be served. Can the Republicans be ethical? First this released memo factually means nothing but facts don't mean anything to trump and his people. It gives Trump the opportunity to falsely claim that it shows that the FBI is a disgrace and that he has been completely vindicated. Rosenstein will be fired. Then Mueller will be fired. Trump will have no choice but to do whatever he can to get Mueller out. Mueller will be replaced by a Trump lackey. The Republicans will circle around Trump. Republicans have not shown any inclination for ethical behavior.
The think tanks will flood the editorials about Mueller's bias to justify the firing.
We will have a constitutional crisis. I believe as a country we are in big trouble.

I never said justice will prevail...justice for what Trump has done is lifelong imprisonment at a minimum, but I don't think he will come anywhere close to that. I will be surprised to see him serve any jail time...and he really deserves that.
BUT, this craziness will not be allowed to continue forever, and some of his underlings WILL spend time in jail. Many of then will wish they never met Donald J. Trump.

We will find out what kind of country we are and if American values are just empty words. My confidence in our leaders and our system is not as strong as yours. The samples of reasoning that I see on this message board are reflective of many in the general population. People can be easily swayed and manipulated. They can be told black is white and they will accept it as true. If our media and FBI tells them it's not the same it's because the media and FBI are just trying to trick them. Where have you been the last 30+ years? American values when it comes to politics has been dead for decades.
Trump will skate. Some low level people will be convicted of something and then later pardoned. Trump will still be POTUS. He may not will or run in 2020, but nothing significant will happen to him.

For an administration who originally claimed "no Russian contacts", they sure had a lot of Russian contacts. If they had nothing to hide, why not just come clean about these contacts from the beginning?
But in fairness, HRC was definitely up to no good (as usual) and as Democrats we have to man up and admit that. Her campaign administration claimed many things that we no know were complete lies, so she deserved to lose.
That was a depressing post and I am not ready to accept your perception of our country. But I do worry. I read an article in our new local newspaper from Will Hurd, a Texan congressman on the house intelligence committee explaining why he voted for the release of the Nunes memo. (Why it was published in a state no where near texas I don't know). I am sure some think tank gave him ideas on what to say and why it needed to be published around the country. The letter was holier-than-thou about the public's right to know and the protection of citizen's privacy. Then he briefly addresses why he voted against the minority report being released. There might be things in there about national security that can't be made public. How blatantly hypocritical. Its amazing what some politicians think people will be OK with. How stupid does he think we are? ............... But are we that stupid?
