Rita Jeptoo did run slower at Chicago in 2014 at 2:24:35 compared to 2:18:57 at Boston in 2014, but she still WON both races, and would of walked away with the $500,000 WMM bonus after winning Chicago 2014...except for that pesky positive EPO test and subsequent doping ban for her weak mind disease.
In 2012, Rita Jeptoo ran 2:35:53 for 6th at the Boston marathon on a hot day.
She then joined the training group of Claudio Berardelli with Priscah Jeptoo as training partner. Rita then ran 2:22:04 and came in 2nd by one step at the 2012 Chicago marathon 6 months later. It was also a new personal best after over 6 years, and by over 1:30 faster than her previous PB.
In 2013, Rita won the Boston marathon in 2:26:25 and then 6 months later she won the Chicago marathon in 2:19:57.
The rapid and dramatic progression of Rita Jeptoo after joining the training group of Claudio Berardelli is obvious and very suspicious.
Her training partner Priscah Jeptoo was the Olympic marathon silver medalist by only 5 seconds in 2012, and won the NYC marathon and London marathon in 2013. Priscah Jeptoo also ran a 1:05:45 half marathon in 2013 while running away from Meseret Defar and Tirunesh Dibaba like they were high school girls!!!
That half marathon race by Priscah Jeptoo really got my attention at the time I watched that race.
