the mansfield kid was well aware he had one lap left. i personally told him. he's a douche. the lap counters were not telling runners how many laps they had left, that was not their job. The responsibility is on him and his coach.

wasn't there, didn't see anything. But I Guarantee EVERYONE here would be super pissed if they got tripped in any event, especially at PSAC's... you just needed an excuse to pick on him. And he came back and ran okay in the 800, so he didn't let that screw with his other race? Wow what a douche he must be! I wasn't there cuz I suck and didn't qualify in anything, but how'd you run?

Tough stuff? he was just amazed that lock haven was dumb enough to jog and let him catch them while he too was jogging. that is why he looked all smiles after the dmr. they were going for 4th and lock haven just pretty much gave him 3rd.

as for the mile. I have been to many meets and Josh did the same thing the professionals do after something like that happens. When you put so much blood and sweat into training for one race and you get tripped up you better me pissed. So yeah he got angry. who the hell doesn't? So i guess all of you pussies on here would have just skipped across the line and kept smiling and threw some high fives to your buddies after having a chance to PR and score points for your team but you fell and didnt get them? Give me a damn break.

as for the 800 if you PR and get second what are you going to act like? all frowns and upset because your you think the bacteria spore count is kind of high in the facility you are running in?

at least find a half descent thing to pick on him about guys. Find something that he did today that you guys wouldn't have done. from what i saw it was a normal college kid acting normal after some up and downs at a big meet.

Are you sure you guys should be smiling after that performance, To lose to slippery rock by less then four points and to only be 13 points clear of unheraled ESU and only 19.5 points ahead of Cal (where has that team come from?) While I understand that everyone is entitled to a little celebration (weiss was quite professional with his win) to see neyhart act like a kid after his races was really quite comical and possiblly idiotic on his part. If he competes like his teamates did in the 5k (gutting out a 200 after they thought they were done) maybe ship picks up some of those needed points to beat SRU. He really acted like a child stomping and swearing right after the race and then hanging his head while his parent's tried to console him. I think he should count his lucky/cliche tatoos that he didn't get kicked out of the meet leaving his 4x400m team short handed. I send my congrats to Spence on some great performances he definitly knows how to get his athletes to compete at their best. I just hope the allumni and spence can tell these young distance kids that the showboating could end up costing the whole program.

there's a big difference between showing some emotion and being pissed than how neyhart acted. he showed no class after the mile, swearing, ripping his spikes off and throwing them down, and crying. show some class, don't be a crybaby if something doesn't go your way, bite your tongue and shake your opponents hand, regardless if you ran like poo.

Ha, if he didn't run like crap in the mile, Ship probably could have won the team title.

Another note of interest with ship was in the 3k when Gracey swung into lane three to cut off Brady (his teammate) in the last straight away to edge him at the end. Brady seemed pretty pissed at the end as I would be too if one of my teammates did that too me. Yes Neyhart does need to grow up I had a good laugh on behalf of his antics at the finish line of the mile...he should have been taking notes on what Weiss did after he won the 3k...what happened to Straumen in the 800?? I think it was something with his hamstring but not sure really...pretty close with the team scores on the mens side...looking forward to seeing great performances in the outdoor season

i wasn't there, but comparing how a guy reacts when he wins and how a guy reacts to being tripped and having a disaster of a race isn't really fair. perhaps josh reacted the wrong way, and maybe he'll learn from it. i've stomped off the track cursing and throwing things and wasn't proud of it once i thought about it. it never happened again after that. so josh just needs to think about how he represents himself and the school if something similar happens again. sometimes you don't handle things perfectly the first time you deal with an adverse situation. he's young and his emotions got the best of him. but what do i know? continue with the insults kids.

Hey guys yeah Im the guy from ship that kicked like crazy when I thought I only had one lap yet in reality I had two. Yeah when I look back it was a dumb mistake, I shouldve remembered we were lapped but in my defense the counter was off. THe one lap count was up when I went by, so I kicked and then my coach told me I had one more, talk about depressing but oh well goes to show you can always give more. So I have a video of the race; its made, has a soundtrack and all, heck maybe I can make a movie out of it (just kidding) I guess I will put it on flotrack sometime then I will get on here and send you guys the link... -Jake

From the sounds of it, the races (no, not the miscounting and hissy fit crap) seem like they were great ones to watch.

Oh well, I'll be off to Mankato to watch some of the best of the PSAC!

Edinboro does not have Indoor track as an official sport, it got dropped because of title IX several years ago.
