And just to be entirely precise, it matters not one bit whether he's a general, or in charge of generals. The purpose of such a law/rule would apply 100% as much to senior civilian DoD officials as senior uniformed people. Both groups make big decisions about procurement and other things related to industry, and so the purpose of the law would apply to them equally.

Pretty easy to agree with this. EXCEPT, arguably - or particularly - for jobs like AG or FBI, where they could really and very directly hurt people's lives by doing what Trump wants.

Republicans control the media, they control the house and the senate, they control the supreme court, and in less than a week they'll have the presidency.
