People don't hate Nathan Ritz, or Ward, or Ryan Hall. People hate Rupp because he is overrated. They are tons of people who harp about his so called out of this world talent, and that he can be on par with the east africans, etc. That is why people dislike Rupp.

Ward is a joke. Ryan Hall was too arrogant. Emphasis on "was" because he's done. Ritz is a good runner but not on Rupp's level. Ritz also does not have an olympic silver medal in the 10k, nor an olympic bronze medal in the marathon.
Believe it or not, there are people out there who like Rupp for the very reasons that you dislike Rupp.

Rupp is the standard by which all future American distance runners will be judged. Can't win a medal at a global champs? Fail. Can't make the podium at a world marathon major? Fail. Can't medal in the oly marathon? Fail. Get over yourselves, Rupp is the best distance runner America has ever produced and it may be a long while until anyone comes near his times or accomlishments.
