You are not the only one who thought that Sandra Villines is a legitimate runner.
Unfortunately Trasie Phan is not the marketing professional she claims to be. The whole record production will go nowhere if there where no funds to do it in the first place. Sandra is running ultras just for a couple of years. She is an average ultrarunner with one great win at Badwater this year. Great for her but not a sign of ultrarunning excellence.
Sponsors look into these things. Nobody knows Sandra, she is not even a brand amassador. And now since Mimi Anderson announced her record run, companies would be stupid to put money into a competing runner without a chance of her being better than Mimi. Mimi has a proven record of a lot of long difficult runs over the last 15 years. Sandra not so much.
It's sad that this is over before it even got started.

One runner
1 - 2 crew people
1 Van
1 hotel room a night
= $200 per day with food and gas
70 days including the drive back = $14000 plus shoes and a couple of extra expenses it should be well below $20000 (assuming the crew people work for just a hug and the van is your own)
I might be wrong but there is no way that people will support a $1500 per day operation.

Both Mimi and Sandra have disappointed me now that I see each of them are associating themselves with a charity for their runs. I thought they would be different.

Money is pouring in. Only $88975 to go.
I just don't see how it is possible to raise so much money from a GoFundMe with less than 2 weeks time before Sandra was scheduled to start her run. The time is just too short.
If it were me, I would go around to businesses saying I would print their name and logo on singlets I would wear running across the country. The biggest sponsor would get naming rights for the run and most amount of space.
It is interesting to learn that it costs about $90,000 to fund a supported run across America. The amount of sponsorship money Rob Young got must have been huge.

$90000 is probably a nice budget to have but you can do it for much less.
$20-25000 seems to be a reasonable amount. Anything more is just gravy.
Trasie Phan was trying to go big but obviously she failed bigly.
With a smaller budget people probably would be more inclined to give.
But we will see what happens.
I am also wondering why Sandra Vi is not stepping up and paying her fair share. After all it's her run.
