I just googled that coach's name, and all of my questions were answered. This should be fun.

This is amazing. Maybe her coach has been trying to build up her confidence by lying to her about splits and she actually believes him? That would explain her complete ignorance in the claims she is making. Say she runs a 7:00 mile and he says it was a 5:00 than she would believe and not know the difference.
What? 7:00? She said what?
I'm gonna give her 1:15 as she will run really hard because of the embarrassment. That's assuming she actually runs. Chances are pretty high that she doesn't run with all this attention. Her coach probably has a good excuse brewing. He should go into hiding if she doesn't come within 60 seconds of the record.
Maybe the course is an out and back or double loop and she only ran half the distance in her time trial.
These 2 guys are complete frauds. If you believe this for one second then shame on you
You're probably right. If they are trolling I hope there is some serious kickback and they don't just get to laugh it off, how they duped a bunch of people. Some shaming would be in order.
Man, I feel bad for Jill. From the Facebook comments posted on here, I get the feeling that she is being 100% sincere. I think she is being taken advantage of in a really mean way.

I think I agree. Jill, if you're reading this, go down to your local track and run one lap in 77 seconds. That will give you a sense of how fast you'll need to run for 39 more consecutive laps.
The men's record (Gillette) is set by an OT qualifier..and the women's record (Burnick) is SOLID (she's definitely sub 60 at Broad St). This Greathouse woman has never raced, and I think she is a masters runner (?) Is this a Masters record? I'm sorry, there is NO way she is running faster than Gillette on that course...maybe if her last name was Dibaba...but sorry, I know the course. There is NO way.
This is the best thread we have had on the site in a while.
Why are the brojos silent on this thread? They usually love stuff like this.
It's a little depressing that people think so little of distance runners that they'd actually believe some rando with no history of running on the elite level would break a record.
There's no way you could convince someone that there's some undiscovered talent who's faster than Usain Bolt or Michael Phelps, or better than Tiger Woods or Steph Curry, but tell them that some unknown lady is going to run a world record ten mile time, and even a race director is like, "well, you never know!"
My wife has been watching too many episodes of that show "Catfished" for me to believe this situation.

Agreed, I was thinking the same thing and trying to come up with ways to compare this with other sports. It would be like a guy who never played football in high school or college suddenly deciding he wants to be a pro QB and in a relatively short time becomes an NFL MVP. Everyone knows that can't/won't happen but there are plenty of people who will think this story is plausible.

Brojos, can you make a live thread for the attempt??
When she gets the AR, can we get a black page? I can think of almost no one more deserving of a black page than a total unknown setting an AR. The fact that this will be her first race ever, apparently, makes it even more deserving.
FWIW, from the PA Unified Judicial System web portal - Austin Sedicum III, from Bucks County (DOB 3/26/68) only has a criminal record under section 4904(b) of the PA crimes code - unsworn falsification to authorities. Specifically, section 4904(b) reads - "A person commits a misdemeanor of the third degree if he makes a written false statement which he does not believe to be true, on or pursuant to a form bearing notice, authorized by law, to the effect that false statements made therein are punishable."
So no embezzlement - at least not of record in PA - but still a crime of dishonesty.
He's in his late 40's, went to Temple, has a shrine for his medals, lives just north of Philly, crossed the finishing line of the VIA marathon - I could go on. Remind you of anyone?

This is like waiting Rupp's debut marathon at the trials, except that this is Jill's first race ever and she's going straight for AR. On a tough course, to make things more challenging.

This is Rossi's buddy for sure. I can smell it
Wonder if Rossi uses this guy for treatment and asked him to help him goof on the Brojos?
Of course the woman isn't breaking the record; she won't even break 1:05.
