@Booster - yes so it seems to be the same colorways, not sure why runningwarehouse call it "Grey/Green".
Well I couldn't really get a hold of anyone who could help with my specific problem so I sent them back with a note and will follow up with them when they've been received.
Went out for an MPace run yesterday with the AB2s and they were great as usual...but they are quite a bit narrower than the S3Bs, guess no shoe can be perfect ;-)
gnm,
yes varying descriptions to say the least! Re B22876 (R3B) this is how they were originally described @ wiggle and I think how they will be desc on the adi website:
B22876 BRAND ADIDAS ADIZERO TAKUMI REN SYELLO/BOONIX/RAWOCHRUNNING FOOTWEAR (SPORT SHOES)
i.e. solar yellow (err no) / bold onix (silver/grey perhaps) / raw ochre (no again). The description comes from import data relating to the shipment from China (don't ask how I can see this!) so it must have come from adidas. Odd.
Btw I have a pair of brand new Feather Prime, solar red size UK11 I'm selling. For sale at the mo on Ebay but if you fancy them let me know (shipping to France may be a little expensive but the shoes are cheap!). Selling as I have a pair (exact same) I'm using and having purchased the Sen/Ren recently am able to let my 2nd pair of Feather Prime go.

Looks good but I'm a US12/UK11.5 for Adidas shoes and I think I need to get to the bottom of the Sen/Ren Boost saga first ;-) Talking of which I couldn't pass on the runningwarehouse deal for the AW15 B22876/R3B, can't wait to receive them ;-)
gnm,
understand and agree best to sort the Sen/Ren issue first. Fyi I wear adi UK12 in Adios/Sen/Ren (a full thumb's width bigger than non-running shoes) but the primeknit (incl the feather prime I'm selling) come up significantly bigger so UK11 in these is the equiv, I think because they are wider so toes are not so channelled forward towards the end of the shoe.
Glad you went for the RW B22876. Per prev mails are very good looking/classy and an excellent deal. Infact surprising for such a good deal this early in their life-cycle, but perhaps RW have a large quantity and are working on a smaller margin per unit for this specific shoe.
Well it seems Adidas agreed that the wear was abnormal on my S3B because I just got a refund, thanks for that!
In terms of sizing, I did notice during an Adidas test run organized at a shop that the Primeknit Ultra Boost in UK11/US11.5/Euro 46 did seem to fit me ok (they didn't have my usual Adidas UK11.5/US12/Euro 46.67 size). I suppose the Primeknit upper is a bit more flexible. Having said that I didn't like the Ultra Boost much as it didn't feel very stable and lacked cushioning in the front. It's probably more of a heel striker shoe. It was very comfy though!
Good, I knew adidas would provide excellent post sales service, no long drawn out investigation/discussion/two-way exchange, just quick and fair resolution.
Agree Prime upper is A1. The Prime Olympics I have have Prime upper and Sen 1 sole, great combo. Originally £145 I bought them brand new about a year ago through an established UK retailer for £54, very nice:)
Strongly suspect that adi will bring something out really special ahead of the Rio Olympics; very latest (next year's) iterations of the Prime upper and some combo of Adios/Sen Boost sole but probably lighter. Am sure George @APT could shed some light on this but will be sworn to secrecy for commercial reasons plus the fact that these are still in development I guess. Must stress again I'm speculating here but will watch with interest.
Hope R3B work well for you.

Nice shoes but probably on the light side for my build and speed ;-) R3Bs should be in tomorrow, can't wait!
Delivery's been delayed it seems, maybe tomorrow...Anyway with the current heatwave it wouldn't be easy to take them through their paces!
Everything comes to he who waits:) You're right about the heat though, did a 1/2 marathon this morning. Set off at 7.30 a.m. but by 7.45 it was so oppressive I rued the decison. God it nearly killed me!
Still no new Takumi on the adidas.uk website but interested to see the Feather Boost. Like them but I don't think the outsole will be sufficiently durable for my needs. Here's the link:

Wow, I take it that was just training over an HM distance not an actual race ?
Well the R3Bs did show up today after all! First things first I weighed them (US 12) and they came in at 220 grams with the insole and 200 without. This compares to 200 grams for the S3B (fixed insole) and 268 grams for the AB2. Nice colorway indeed and the extra orange laces would certainly make it "pop".
I checked them out briefly indoors, alone and with the AB2 on alternating feet and they felt a bit "flat". Both because they lack the midfoot "bump" on the inside of the AB2s that I quite like and they lack their "bounce", probably the lack of the extended torsion structure mentioned in a review I linked previously. Also they don't "hug" my foot as closely so there might the same "friction" as with the S3B that caused me some issues underfoot. It's a detail but like on the S3B the laces feel "flimsy" unlike on the AB2 where they "lock" into place.
In terms of potential sole wear (still looking forward to see your pics!) the extra Continental rubber on the outside probably doesn't quite go low enough if I look at the wear on my AB2s and some "pods" might get an early beating again. Might try to give them a quick try on the track of I can get there before it turns into an oven, but not terribly enthusiastic at this point.
gnm,
yes, the hm distance was training and not an actual race. Have just got back from 14 miles and it's a lot cooler in south-east England today. Business as usual then!
How are the Ren fairing?
Yep a lot better here too !
I sent the R3Bs back after pondering that first indoor testing, they just didn't feel right as opposed to the AB2s that feel great as I found again on some IPace training the other day. Not sure why, not for the Boost in the heel as I'm a forefoot striker, it must be the actual "hugging" of my foot that's pretty thin in the middle. I can live with the 50 gram difference given my 6'3"/165 build ;-)
Looking forward to read more comments about future Boost models though. Guess the next one to pop up should be the Boston Boost 6...
You did the right things, gave both a go but neither worked for you. A little surprised as my build is v.similar (6' and 170lbs) plus we both supinate a bit esp the left foot but all this just emphasises the significance and importance of the other variables in the 'optimum shoe equation!'
Funny that you should mention Boston Boost as I picked up a pair of Solar Red/Black in a sale recently for half price but have yet to run in them. Planning to do so v.soon. Am sure they will be great on those days when more cushioning is wanted v Adios/Takumi, but still light.
Yep, it's hard to find a good fit ;-) I ran a 5k with the AB2s the other day and they were great, can't ask for more really, a tad more width in the front possibly...
You might want to try the BB5s before the return period runs out because they caused me some significant pain in the left Achilles, couldn't really figure out why as the collar didn't seem too different from the one on the AB2s. I really liked their "ride" though so I tried them in 12.5 but they felt completely different and the Achilles problem was still there.
Has anyone seen a release date for the BB6s ? That's the next planned Adidas Boost release I think?
Gnm,
Thanks for the suggestion re BB5. Will try before asap!
I've just looked at the Adi catalogues I have for Q4 and there's no mention of Boston (5 or 6) at all so not sure what's happening there. Interesting to see how the womens' BB5 have evolved and the differences that there are now compared to the mens' model. Do you think the mens' BB6 will adopt some of these changes?
Nice all yellow/black/silver AB2 'Haile' edition coming out in Sept. A number of Asian retailers are marketing them already. See page 7 of following:

Hi all, first post so go easy.
Gawd, can't decide between Takumi Ren, Takumi Sen and Boston Boost. Have also been looking at NB Zante and Nike Free 4.0 / Lunartempo too but getting wound up in detail and can't decide. Any advice or recommendations greatly appreciated - go to shoe is Glide 6/7, love it but want a quicker/shorter option. Midfoot striker, big (6'2 / 80kg) and need a decent forefoot cushion.
Have been thinking Boston's the one, and have seen lots of mention of July for a 6 release (to either get that or super cheap 5!), but can't find any official announcement. Love the look and sound of both Takumi's - Ren sounds a little more shoe, but then Sen still has boost in the forefoot so maybe fine...help?!
Last question - some people have said to me before it's good to have a couple of brands in your rotation to 'keep your feet guessing' a bit (hence looking at NB and Nike), so any strong thoughts on NB Zante and Nike Free 4.0 / Lunartempo appreciated too!
Similar profiles/habits as I'm 6'3/75kg and have been using the GB6 "successfully" for the past year for all my "easy" runs. I'd suggest the AB2 as they're basically a lighter/faster GB6 and offer a similar fit, unlike the BB5, see my comments above. As you'll see I had no luck when I gave both Takumis a try recently.
Since I stockpiled on the GB6 on the cheap I haven't had a chance to try the GB7s, apparently they don't feel very different ?
Where did you mentions of a July release for the BB6 ?
@Booster - impressive catalog you've found there ! Strange indeed that the Boston is nowhere to be found...maybe they're going to be US only? I tried to pull up the link of the BB6 reviews (by runningwarehouse ?) I had bookmarked (mens :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNfODU-AmiE
and womens :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afCXyNGBbBc
) but they've been marked as private ! The catalogue mentions the SB8 but I can't say I'm too excited about these.
The Haile AB2s are nice, best colorway since the first release (orange and dark blue) but I'll have to wear out mine first ;-)
Hey gathernomoss, thanks very much for that!
Adios are in the mix too, I guess I'd just seen the new Takumis as slightly more interesting but similar!
The 7s aren't hugely different, nicer and neater upper, and beyond that I'm probbaly just noticing their freshness in comparison with my 6s (130km on the 7s, 750km on the 6s). Saw the July mention on solereview.com - just in a comment thread but sounded legit (US based so could be that they'll be US only possibly).
Crikey so now I'm on to AB2, BB5/6, TR3, TS3, Lunar Tempo, Free 4.0 and Zante - am definitely not this indecisive in any other part of my life!
gnm,
this may interest you...I purchased a pair of these AB 1 Hero Ink/Infra in Dec last year from M&M for £33.99 delivered, so a wee bit more now but still cheap.
Bargains bargains everywhere, you just got to keep looking:)
