This will blow up like the Lia Thomas stuff if he takes down any records or wins nationals. His plan of "smashing" Alex Phillips record would legitimately upset a lot of people.
Whether guilty or not, the truth is that majority of people will disagree with any success he has. The better he does, the louder people will get. Even more people will hear about it and the majority will grow even more unfavorably. He can't simply just put his head down and hope people forget.
The only thing that can save him is a clearing statement from the Iowa state coach (unlikely). Sudbury should be aware of this so if he continues to not clear Seth's name it'll be very telling.
Incredibly unfortunate if he is innocent.
I believe Seth didn't cross the line with prohibited substances but may have been borderline with different stuff, still within legal limits.
Coach Sudbury at Iowa Stats is a good dude and wouldn't in all probability have cleared Seth to run at Rowan if he (Seth) had done something really egregious.
The level of hate against this dude is ridiculous, imho, especially as no one except a select few, know which infraction Seth (and a few others) committed.
Sad times. So much negativity.. unreal ..
Move on - let the dude (Clevenger) run and get on with his life.
Rowan schedule:
2026 Men's Outdoor Track & Field Schedule - Rowan University Athletics
If the infraction is known and proven to be legal, then why isn’t anyone being clear about what it actually is? Without clear explanation and evidence, it’s unreasonable to expect less informed people to dismiss seemingly credible allegations.
I am one of the "less informed" - I’m not claiming he’s guilty or innocent. But the arguments made in his defense haven’t been convincing.
Thus place is dominated by former D3 try hards who are jealous of everyone and everything. They work at running stores still running 90 MPW in order to run 29:59. They think if they train harder, they will be a 2:09 marathoner. They hate guys like Seth who is smart and fast and wealthy.
Not to sound douchey, but if he’s so smart why is he at Rowan?
Maybe you didn't know that there are smart kids at every school.
Of course there are. But looking D3-wise, are there more smart kids at MIT than Rowan?
And you’re telling me he had absolutely 0 D1 offers despite placing like he did at Nuttycombe? To schools that could both give him athletic $ and a good / great education? That doesn’t result from having a beer.
There are good power 4 schools with better facilities, coaching, and resources anyway that he’d almost (or would outright be) be the school record holder with his 7:54.
You seem so disappointed that he chose a D3 school. Why is so important for you?
Found the Clevenger burner
I looked it up. Duke’s record in the 3000 is 7:58. And their first guy at Nuttycombe was 24:32. Who in their right mind would pay to go to Rowan if they could get (likely significant) $ to go to Duke? He’d also have been number 2 on UNC. Again, who goes to Rowan over UNC?
Some real interesting moderation happening on this thread.
Legal and IP log hinting threats being repeated. Seems someone forgets that a legal battle would result in discovery being allowed and then ALL would come to light.
