After his strong 1609 leg they decide to train through Nationals for his annual WashU 1500m. Wonder how the Ole strength coach will feel about Power wasting resources when the Oles get stuck in Alabama during the blizzard?

Cole closes in 1:56.38 to be All-American!
Trent & Cooper go 2-3 in Shot Put!
Grant Nelson runner-up!
MIAC Record for Ihrke!!!!
Would have been All-American but Chunko’s protest yesterday reinstated the Brockport runner despite, so 9 raced today.
Congrats to Big John!
Where can we see the protests?
And nice job to Watson from Hamline on placing 5th in TJ!
Sadly, I'm not surprised Chunko had a hand in that at all. You have to pay to protest right? More waste of funds.
Best NCAA meet performances -
Field - Trent Beseth - 2nd overall in a new PR after being seeded 3rd.
Runner Up - Christian Watson TJ
Track - Grant Nelson - 400m - 2nd overall with an Indoor PR of 47.20 (twice). His converted seed was 47.33, which seeded him 7th.
Runner Up - Ihrke 9th place 800m, I know it's not AA, but we already established the Chunko protest ended up sending the Brockport athlete to Finals. Ihrke runs the MIAC Indoor all-time records and PR's.
Women -
Undoubtedly Ariella Rogahn-Press. She's her.
A tough field event weekend for the MIAC. Why was the Bethel jumper DQ'ed? We'll say the MIAC freshman of the year in Lauren Pearson finishing 14th close to her PR in her first National Championship.
How many teams are stranded in Birmingham? Did anyone drive?
Evidently Chunko was so mad that Ihrke and Stencel made finals that he drove through the night with his athletes to take a 6:00 am flight from a different state. He told them he couldn't justify to his boss spending another night on hotel rooms when all there were doing was sightseeing.

I was a lowly D3 unpaid assistant to the assistant of nothing and even I know the NCAA covers flights and hotels for national championships. Undoubtedly, trapped travelers would be covered.
But yeah these threads have really become more about documenting the wrinkles in Powers testes than actual track. I used to check these regularly. You’ve made me lose interest in MIAC track mostly. Occasionally, I still check and inevitably it’s some insignificant grudge/complaint about some coach when it doesn’t matter at all. Twenty years ago St. Thomas coach was a pos and he didn’t get 1% of the attention.
What's the real reason? 4:33 on a banked track didn't seem too out of touch for him.
Was really hoping some MIAC 800 runner would make Finals. Adding the California and Texas schools to Outdoor and taking away the DMR scratches will make qualifying much harder. Let's all pray for warm temps and no wind except during Grant's 200m.

Does the MIAC not count it since it was run on a 300m track? Who maintains the record book?
1:51.39 on indoor flat 200m to win ncaa 800m title
Mike, you need to email the MIAC office to have this corrected. Wonder how many other errors exist. I always questioned how soft the Indoor 5K and Outdoor 10K are. Are we sure they are accurate?
Will this snow prevent the St. John’s home meet? Warming temps should help? How much snow in field event areas do ya have Johnnies?
Outdoor Picks -
100m - Anstine, GAC
200m - Nelson, Bethel
400m - Nelson, Bethel
800m - Ihrke, Macalester
1500m - Stencel
Steeplechase - the other Goss
5000m - Stencel if Turlington runs the 10K/5K double, otherwise Turlington
10,00m - Turlington
4 x 800 - Carleton will run a surprisingly strong lineup, but the Oles edge the Johnnies
4 x 100m - St. John's if Reis is back
4 x 400m -Bethel wins by four seconds, but Oles, Cobbers, and Johnnies all run 3:17 or better.
I opened the link for the record book.
Ben Sathre ran 8:07.02 on a flat 200m track and 14:10.99 on 300m track. I know this because I ran against him and he was good.
I don't think these have been broken but wondering why they are not listed at MIAC all-time bests.
Looks like the league is at least partially removing the Tommies from the record book.
Nobody on this site has the answers to your questions. Email the MIAC office. It's most likely Pete never looked at the records list to confirm.
Are the Outdoor records wrong too? I know Chunko made a big deal about the 10K record.
