I believe her. Look at the dance numbers she's able to do in her 50s and consider that she dances like that for entire shows. It's clear she is very athletic and she has great stamina. Those are the qualities of a middle distance runner.
By those standards Chappell Roan, Taylor Swift, and Lady Gaga should be cracking 2 minutes in the 800. And if Julianne Hough ever decides to take up the steeplechase, well, Winfred Yavi better watch out.
Chappell Roan did run cross-country in high school and qualified for state. Google AI says her best time was 20:06.
I think JLo was talking about the 1500 and I think there's something weird about the posters here who seem so flabbergasted by that, as if someone glamorous or sexy couldn't have possibly run a fast time in high school. Not everyone has to be a nerd to grind it out. She obviously has a good work ethic.
We don't have enough information about either JLo or Sheryl Crow to judge their track accomplishments, but Crow apparently was a Missouri state meet-quality hurdler in about 1980. Regardless, it's amusing for us olds to look back to the days in which we could walk without aspirin, ibuprofen or surgery:
People think if you did AAU in high school back in the day it was "national" level so I wouldn't put much confidence in that and more so anything from Wikipedia which is full of falsehoods and straight up lies.

Also, the 1500 is commonly referred to as the “mile“ by a lot of people. I don’t doubt it at all that she knocked out that time for 1500 m. She was obviously incredible shape, especially when she joined in Living Color as a professional dancer.
A bunch of dudes on here, talking a bunch of crap when they themselves probably didn’t even break five minutes in the mile.

Nah Jlo lied and got caught. And all the fan boys are crying
Someone already said this but it’s worth repeating for those of you who haven’t looked at a map lately. There is no way a young teen going to school in the Bronx in the ‘80s is competing on a track club based in Staten Island. Those may be Jennifer Lopez’s results but they’re not JLo’s.
I haven't read the rest of the thread but just to confirm, CITIUS have posted some images/videos of her running as well as some of her former teammates
Yeah well it’s pretty clear I didn’t know what the hell I was talking about. And in general I’m appalled I contributed to the negativity in this thread. She probably didn’t run a 4:49 mile or 1500. But as track fans when a celebrity says they ran track as a kid we should embrace them as one of us. Not go on a manic hunt to disprove their claims. That just makes us look petty and small.
