Some more Gems from Congressman Fine
July 2025: Fine accused Rep. Ilhan Omar of being a “Muslim terrorist” in a tweet responding to her criticism of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s U.S. visit, saying, “I’m sure it is difficult to see us welcome the killer of so many of your fellow Muslim terrorists. The only shame is that you serve in Congress.” This drew condemnation from Democratic leaders like Hakeem Jeffries, who called it “unhinged, racist, and Islamophobic.
”
July 2025: Commenting on a photo of Rep. Rashida Tlaib with Zohran Mamdani, New York City’s Democratic mayoral candidate, Fine tweeted, “Muslim terrorists hang out together.” This was widely criticized as a bigoted attack on Muslim elected officials.
July 2024: Fine tweeted, “We have a Muslim problem in America,” equating support for Palestinian statehood with “Muslim terror” and proposing legislation to restrict countries recognizing Palestine from doing business in Florida.
January 2025 (Post-New Orleans Attack): Following the New Orleans truck attack by an American-born convert to Islam, Fine posted, “Muslim terror has attacked the United States — again. The blood is on the hands of those who refuse to acknowledge the worldwide #MuslimProblem. It is high time to deal with this fundamentally broken and dangerous culture.” This was criticized by Trump ally Richard Grenell for undermining religious freedoms.
On the Killing of Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi:September 2024: After the Israeli Defense Forces killed Turkish-American activist Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi during a peaceful protest in the West Bank, Fine tweeted, “Throw rocks, get shot. One less #MuslimTerrorist. #FireAway.” A Washington Post investigation later found Eygi was not throwing rocks, contradicting Fine’s claim. CAIR called for his censure, labeling the remark as celebrating the extrajudicial killing of an American citizen.
On Nuclear Weapons and Gaza:2025 (Post-Israeli Embassy Attack): Following the killing of Israeli embassy workers in Washington, D.C., where the shooter shouted “Free Palestine,” Fine said on Fox News, “The Palestinian cause is an evil one … We nuked the Japanese twice [in World War II] to get unconditional surrender. That needs to be the same here.” This was condemned as advocating for genocidal violence.
Other Inflammatory Remarks:May 2021: When asked on social media if he was okay with bombing a building containing American reporters, Fine replied, “YES,” showing disregard for press safety.
August 2024: Fine tweeted in support of Israelis storming Al-Aqsa Mosque, calling Palestinians “Muslim occupiers” and stating, “Any religion that can’t share its third holiest site with another religion for which it is the holiest shouldn’t have access at all.” This was seen as endorsing illegal actions and religious exclusion.
2025 (On Zohran Mamdani): After Mamdani’s victory in the NYC Democratic mayoral primary, Fine claimed without evidence that Mamdani wanted to establish a “caliphate” in New York City and tweeted, “If Mamdani has his way, NYC classrooms won’t be teaching the Constitution in civics class. They’ll be teaching Sharia Law.”
