That's exactly it. You get people to THINK you are a psycho, and then they usually do what you tell them to do.
OK. Your skill might be useful in arguing over a parking space, but the official has the power of the police behind him, and you’re just not going to get what you want. Even if the official hates transgender athletes as much as you do, he can’t allow an eligible athlete to be disrespected.
The mini-protest was meaningless, anyway. Change will come through the courts or threats from Trump and not a photo-op.
That doesn't seem to be working so it seems as if it's going to be up to we the people to do something about what you the immoral people are condoning.
(a) one reason this turned to testing regimes is there are going to be kids with the "right" birth certificate and who look female visually. people like me pointed out biological variety. so despite saying a birth certificate decides, no, not really. this is a vendetta. we said but they could be male inside. so they now want to hunt that too.
(b) it's also an attack on butch gay kids and not just trans. anything not conventionally blonde in a pony tail. i have heard of tomboy or gay kids getting called out.
This website is totally broken. We are already at page 10 and despite several posters indicating that the transgender athlete finished 5th ( behind the two protesting girls), the thread title is still "Two female athletes refuse to stand on the podium after a male pretending to be a girl won the Oregon girl’s high jump".
Can a mod please rename this thread to “"Two female athletes refuse to stand on the podium after a transgender athlete finished 5th at the Oregon girl’s high jump"?
Whatever your opinion is on the matter, let’s at least have factual premises.
Honestly these are kids. I’d tell my girl to get up on the d@mn stand and enjoy this. It’s not the time for a political statement. They’re not John Carlos and Tommie Smith. I’m sure their parents put a lot of this bs in their heads. 99% of people know boys shouldn’t be in girls sports but why sully your state tournament by not getting on the stand? I dunno my daughter would have to have a dang strong opinion on it for me to even think about letting her do that.
She couldn’t do it anyway. The track official had undoubtedly been told to treat the transgender athlete with the respect as given to other athletes, and allowing the protesting girls in the photo would run conflict with directive.
Didn't you say you were a track coach? Don't you have any discretion on who can be on your team? Are you going to let a biological male complete as a woman on your team, or would you do the right thing, take a stand, and say no? People like you who capitulate and don't stand up for what is right is why this is still an issue. Be a man and risk your job for what is right.

The mods are right-wing knee jerk hick ass retards like the BroJos. They don’t care at all; they need the page views, otherwise the BroJo’s dad is going to have to subsidize their failure lifestyle even more than he already does.
It was quite shocking to see pages of posts debating middle school genital examination vs self-declaration -- as if these are the only two options when in fact both are terrible ideas and there are some obvious alternatives.
Say you have moved from Ohio to California.
Say that your child, a girl, has started at a new middle school. She would like to run track this spring.
How do you propose to "prove" her sex to the satisfaction of the unhinged anti-trans fringe?(People who share the attitudes and bad-faith assumptions of people this thread.)
Competitive sport is the real problem here, especially that it starts so young and is so full-on in the US. Let kids be kids.
This is exactly it.
In the civilized world, literally every other developed country, kids can play on school teams with friends of their gender.
Nobody is freaking out like this about trans girls in soccer or track or any other sport in Norway, Australia, Germany, Canada, or a variety of countries that do very well per capita in elite sports, too.
It is very much specific to American transphobes. Virtue-signaling culture warriors.
If it was my daughters wish to be up on the podium with her back facing the camera in protest, I would be down there by the podium making sure that is exactly what would happen. And it would.
Probably not.
Guys who talk like you are usually scared to get physical.
And if you did get physical in this scenario, you would be promptly arrested.
The silver lining is that the ignorance, sexism, immorality, and also passion of people like you will keep your party out of power for decades to come. Bravo to that.
My party? You're really not very sharp, are you?
I'm not even in your dumpster fire country, obviously. In my country a trans girl can high jump with the girls and nobody sets their hair on fire. Not as many virtue-signaling culture warriors like you, I guess.

Exactly.
Good luck to the "male looking" girl who is better than the other girls and has a birth certificate from out-of-state, let alone a birth certificate from out of country like millions of kids in America.
The OP and other transphobes have no answer on how they will resolve this, except for genital exam and lab tests (which they have supported in this thread).

I didn’t, but a track coach doesn’t have the power to prevent an eligible athlete from competing on the team. The state HS sports policies allows transgender athletes to compete and there’s nothing that the coach can do about it.
What sacrifices are you making for the cause? Just posting on LRC doesn’t mean squat.
As far as your facial expression, is it like the Hulk or is like Charles Manson who made Vincent Bugliose’s watch stop ticking after a nasty stare down.

Well good. I'm glad you are probably in another country being taken over by islam or fascist liberalism, and that whatever you post is pretty much meaningless to this topic. Thank you.

Well gosh I didn't know that when I was in high school I could just randomly get on a team and start competing despite what the coach said. If I had known this, I would have gone to swim meets and just jumped in the pool and started racing kids from other schools. I also would have jumped out of the stands and played in some of the girls volleyball games.

You really do hate women. Awful parenting you must have had, just awful. And now you want to take it out on real women.
Look at this post. You are unhinged. Thank you for revealing something about your mental health while you fail to make cogent arguments.
As for me: happy childhood, happy parents, happy adulthood, happy wife, happy kids.
How about you?
He did strike a nerve, eh? Your retort displays the brimming hate that consumes you, that has made you a hater of women and children, a hater of normalcy. You should be ashamed of making up stories about your non-existent happy kids, but it’s likely you’re incapable of feeling shame, and are fueled by pure hate.

If you had wanted to swim you could have gone out for the team and no, you couldn’t have otherwise jumped in the pool and raced. To compete as a HS transgender there’s some paperwork required and would also require actually going out for the volleyball team. You have some wacky ideas as to how sports work.
Regarding transgender athletes this this is the rule:
“Coaches cannot discriminate against certain students based on factors like race, gender, or socioeconomic status.”
Rather than making a sacrifice , the coach would be shooting himself in the foot while proving he’s too stupid to ever work again.

Yikes!!
I generally don't go to these threads, because I know what the loudest voices will be. But I decided to click onto the last (10th) page (at the time of this typing) just to see where we are at....
And this post stuck out.
(And nobody has pushed back on it's factual presentation thus far.)
I can only say - thank god I didn't read the previous 9 pages.
