Kerr beat Jakob in the biggest global championships in the last two years, as well as Prefontaine - 3 in a row. But we were also able to count on a bunch of other guys to beat Ingebrigtsen over the 1500 in the last 3 years. The list is growing.
🤣. Why are you being intentionally obtuse? Jakob has gone Gold Silver Silver in the biggest championships over 1500m, who else has matched that? Sure, he isn’t as good as your heroes Herb Elliot or Snell over the event but he is still the current best of this era whether you like it or not.
How has "the best in his era" failed to win a championship gold in his best distance in 3 years, and finished out of the medals in that event at the last Olympics? That was as long as Elliott's entire career. He is owned by Kerr - 3 straight big occasion races and two championship finals. But then Ingebrigtsen keeps losing to others as well. He is nowhere near the past greats of this event. They knew how to win.
You're a slimy piece, aren't you? You know the discussion in this thread has nothing to do with the 5k; it is about 800/1500 competition. So where did Ingebrigtsen come in the Paris 1500?
You're a slimy piece, aren't you? You said on other threads that the discussion is what it becomes. That's your excuse for derailing countless threads. Now suck it up. Lol
The discussion only turns to the longer distances as a deflection, because you keep losing when discussing the event that Ingebrigtsen keeps losing.

Oh really, you slimy piece? Aren't you the one always bringing up Jakob's HM performance?
Why? Because you keep losing when discussing the events that Ingebrigtsen keeps winning.

Why are you counting just the last pre and not all three? Is it because Ingebrigtsen won in 22 and 23? Gold-gold-silver is a lot better than duck-duck-gold you know.
Why do you count Pre but not Euros? Is it because Ingebrigtsen won those as well? Strange how you are not able to stick to your rules about having the fastest PR's and most medals in this case.
The Euros is second tier. Prefontaine wasn't. I am not discussing Ingebrigtsen and Kerr's entire career; the point is that in the latter part of his career, the last 3 years, Ingebrigtsen is routinely losing to other runners in his specialist event, and not just Kerr.

You should have been a politician. You can't answer a simple question, you lie, you omit, you manipulate, and you never admit it when you are wrong.
That's because you guys try to shift the goal post to deny reality, which is that Ingebrigtsen hasn't been able to win the biggest races in his main event for over 3 years now.
So tell me how my comment you were responding to is factually wrong?

Who care if it's factually right or wrong? It's irrelevant to the question you were asked.

And you accuse others of shifting goalposts! Haha
Only irrelevant because you can't counter it. From Kerr's comments, this is obviously and only about the distances where they race each other.

How is the euros second tier? And how does that even matter since you somehow disregard Prefontaine every time Ingebrigtsen has won? Alternative facts?
Still looking forward for an explanation from Army for why the Euros are a "second tier" competition but the Grand Slam Track isn't
Should be easy for such a hotshot like Kerr to show up to the Euros and win easy gold medals if it's a second tier competition
Yeah, if we look at the years since the last olympics the reigning olympic champion have been from europe, the whole podium at the WC was from Europe in 2022 and 2023. The one with the fastest 1500m in 2024 was european, in 2023 and 2022 top two fastest 1500m runners was european.
How is a championship for the current fastest runners, the current reigning olympic and world champions as well as their closest competitors second tier?
And again, why look solely at Pre 24' where Kerr won gold and Ing won silver, but not 23' where Ing won gold and Kerr was nowhere to be seen, or 22' where Ing won gold and Kerr was nowhere to be seen?
Why do you seem to forget that when Ing won silver in 22' (which apparently is horrible) but placing 5th as Kerr did is suddenly completely fine?
Is this the same attitude towards alternative "facts" that makes you want to pretend like europeans is some backyard meet since the facts doesn't fit your narrative?
Lets sum up:
Pre 24': Gold - Kerr, Silver - Jakob Pre 23': Gold - Jakob, DNS - Kerr Pre 22': Gold - Jakob, DNS - Kerr
Jakob: 2 gold 1 silver, Kerr: 1 gold 2 DNS
DL Final 24': Gold - Jakob, DNS - Kerr DL Final 23' (Pre): Gold - Jakob, DNS - Kerr
DL Final 22': Gold - Jakob, 6th - Kerr
Jakob: 3 gold, Kerr: 6th 2 DNS
Europeans 24: Gold - Jakob, DNS - Kerr Europeans 22: Gold - Jakob, DNS - Kerr Europeans 18: Gold - Jakob, DNS - Kerr

The Euros aren't global level competition. That's what makes them second tier. I don't disregard Prefontaine when Ingebrigtsen won; the point I was making is that his loss there last year was his second consecutive beating by Kerr. The trend is Ingebrigtsen to lose now in his main event in the big races. So he won the DL final but really the year was over after Paris. One swallow does not a summer make.
He's been losing to Kerr - 3 big races in a row in the last couple of years - as well as to others - Wightman, Nuguse and of course Hocker. What you ignore by citing his earlier career is that he is now being passed - literally - in his main event. That is what the last 3 years show.
