Jesuit’s Isaac Abbott and Matthew Ogilvie go 4:16. Davis Freshaman, Elias Thronson goes 4:17. A lot of sub 4:20s- pretty much a meet record. Jesuit sophomore, Lucas Alberts, goes 1:52 for the 800- #1 in the nation for the sophomore class

Abott and Ogilvie broke a Matt Strangio meet record. Likely means big things this season. I'm more impressed by Alberts though. Jesuit programs their season almost perfectly - I think there is a good chance he goes sub 1:50 this year.

Makenna Herbst 2:07.92. Only a half second slower than her time in the state championships last year. Wait until she really gets going later this spring.

53 and 2:07 is really impressive, this is a pure 400/800 gal and it doesn't even seem like she runs XC either. Easily a favorite going into the state meet, but we still got a good 3 months

That's correct. Makenna doesn't run cross country at all.
That's why she chose to go to the University of Arkansas. Some schools force their 400/800 runners to run cross country and Makenna wanted nothing to do with that and Arkansas has a good 400/800 training group. (As you might have seen in the video on YouTube about the Arkansas women 400/800 runners that "Track All Access" posted a few months ago.)

Interesting, thanks for the insight! I don't blame her either, XC should be optional if you're a pure 400/800 type. I feel it can be beneficial but it also shouldn't be a necessity. Sumner never ran XC for example. Wilson obviously not either. Clemson had a 45/1:45 runner last year named Tarees Rhoden who never ran XC. The list goes on
Josiah Bowman 4:10 and 1:53, Max Douglass 4:15 and 1:56, Aidan Antonio 4:17 and 9:14, upset by Mattheus Dos Santos over Antonio with a 9:13, both are sophomores
JR Lesher: 9:06 Oliver Zimmerman (Thousand Oaks): 9:10 Derek Luna (Rio Mesa Sophomore): 9:14 Olly O Conner: 9:15 Eamon Gordon (Dos Pueblos): 9:15
Luna's 9:14 is huge PR. Apparently didn't run XC last year in 9th grade. Had a good, but unremarkable 2:12/4:40/10:01 first track season. Started XC unremarkable as well, but showing good talent with 16:17 at Clovis and 16:18 at Mt Sac. Really took a big leap late in the season, running that same MT Sac course at CIF SS finals in 15:22!! Then ran the Clovis course again at CIF finals in 15:38. But a 9:14 is already superior to either of those times.
