Good hire? GREAT HIRE! No clue why Coach Sprecher would leave Lynchburg, but I'm sure he'll do a great job just as he has everywhere else he's coached.
The guy questioning this either got turned down for the job or is a classless punk who knows nothing about the profession... or both
Yeah, this is some BS. It's disgusting when coaches do this, and it ruins their credibility. EVERYONE knows that it was Coach Hart's system that produced all that success.
I saw it a lot when observing every GA that went through John McDonnell's program during the dominant triple crown years. You would think that all of them where an absolute integral cog in the championship wheel, when in reality they were in many cases just observers.
While as a graduate assistant at Baylor, Sprecher coached 10 All-Americans and eight Southwest Conference Champions.
Other Accomplishments * Michael Johnson (Baylor University) - 14 Olympic and World Championship Gold Medals - Four World Records

Nah, if I worked with someone like that at all I would definitely mention it on my resume. You don't have to say you were the head coach but you should mention something like that. You saw firsthand an elite coach worked with an elite athlete.
Agreed that he is a good coach, and also a little surprising, but maybe this is his retirement gig in still coaching, but easier in just coaching distance athletes rather than overseeing a coaching staff and 70 student-athletes.

Probably the biggest upgrade in the history of track and field. Honestly don't know why he took the job but good for those kids
Three hours from the beach vs the middle of no where Virginia. You pick. I'm from VA, but I'm from the southeast. He's done a lot at Lynchburg. Not much more he needs to do there. I know the next school is getting a big boost to their programs.
