Yes, totally see what you are saying. If you look at his 9:38 that was back in April before his 4:14, and 4:18 full mile at New Balance, and for his state, according to MileSplit he is the 6th returner. It also appears as if he does not get to run in the state tournament, I believe his school is not apart of the state association, meaning he does not get to run in any of the state tourney series. So he seems to be at a huge disadvantage in terms of getting to race people all the times like the others may. So, I think in this particular case, the 4:14 may hold more weight given his circumstances. But totally see what you're saying, times are not the same at all compared to what they were 7+ years ago and that makes sense.
