Sadie Englehardt gives up High School eligibility and will run in race with Pros and college athletes

Well, he doesn’t attend Newbury Park high school, so it’s doubtful he’ll XC for them in the fall.

Definitely seems like he's not running for NP track despite running XC for them this year.

Kind of weird since he isn't a world beater, so getting college competition doesn't exactly make a big difference vs him just entering top level HS meets. And there are runners at his school better than him, so it isn't like a stud runner with 6 minute mile teammates trying to get good training outside of school.

I think he was forced to give up his season for running an open race. Just like will happen to Sadie this week

She's scheduled to race at 5:37pm on Friday in the Invitational 4x800 at Arcadia.

I assume the know it alls who have been saying she will be banned any minute now will now confidently predict you will see an official waving a CIF rules book run out and tackle her just after the gun goes off? They just need to get the word from CIF administration is all. Just a matter of time...

CIFSS is back in the office tomorrow from spring break. They will get the phone call tomorrow. They had an emergency meeting today via zoom

CIF had included Conor in on the call. Thats how we all knew it was bad. It’s the same reasons for the suspension two years ago. They slacked being on break but they are all in the office tomorrow. They told everyone they had no choice but to work in this now to decide if they give her the minimum. That’s only if it’s one violation instead of two.

I heard rumbles from a bunch of southern section coaches about some emails to CIF and a meeting. It sucks but Sadie needs to follow the same rules as everyone else. She better hope they rule this now and only give her a two meet suspension instead of a season suspension.

Again it's only fair all athletes and coaches follow the same rules. If Sadie is ok doing this then every should be too.
