What is it you are trying to prove? Tuohy lost to a bunch.of women in the 1500. She lost to a bunch more in XC. Are you trying to show that she lost to even more than we realized? She is sliding and you posting here doesn't impact it.
Did you realize that those are different surfaces and different distances? Do you expect that Addy Wiley would win the D1 XC meet just because she is faster than all D1 women in the 1500?,Tuohy can be worse than some women in the 1500 and other women in XC. Actually, she is.

of course. But which event makes one runner "better" than the other? It seems to me you want to ignore XC and just focus on the one 1500 result from 6 months ago, and ignore the 3000 result from 9 months ago and the XC result from less than 1 month ago. But I know how you "think". 1) Draw the line with the trend you desire. Then 2) Plot the data around that line. As far as who is currently "worse' (or "better") in a 1500 we don't know as they have not raced that since June..
Tuohy was fatigued at BU last year. Given what she did at XC and what she ran a few weeks later in the mile and the 3000m (which converts to around 14:46 on the WA scoring table), it was clear that at her peak last year sub-15 was well within Tuohy's range.
Favorable setting? How about the newly resurfaced BU track where two 5000m NCAA records fell in the same meet, Young almost matched the 3000m record and Markezich ran the number 2 all time 3000m time where Valby got to draft off of Rodenfels for 7/8th of the race? Compare that to Tuohy's run on a non-descript track at Trackfest drafting off no one after she had started to wear down?
Where Valby has an odd advantage is that she never seems to fatigue. Ever. Which is strabge to say the least.
LOL, this place is comedy GOLD! Seriously, I come here just for the laughs sometimes.
Tuohy was sick. Tuohy was tired. The track was short this year. The track was long last year. Valby was wearing Wile E Coyote supershoes with rockets in them this year. Tuohy was wearing Frankenstein boots last year. BU resurfaced the track and put in an airport-style conveyor belt to aid runners this year. There was a strong headwind for the entire race last year.
And just to set the facts straight, Tuohy had Dani Jones and Emma Coburn pace through 3K, Jones dropped out, Coburn took it until 3600m, then Aisha Leer took over through around 4400m. They were specifically pacing Tuohy since Rodenfels had already left her in the dust. Valby took over the lead with 1K to go so she was paced about 400m less than Tuohy. But let's not let facts get in the way of a good story.
And if you want to use conversions, then I guess you must admit that Addy Wiley can run 14:35 for 5K since that is what her 1500m times equates to. Or maybe Wiley should just got run a 2:22 marathon, equivalent to her 1500 PR.

The discussion is tiresome. Valby had a better Cross season, and just ran a great 5,000. In 2022, Tuohy had the upper hand, and ran a great 3,000/mile and then doubled at Nationals while Valby was out injured. Valby got her NCAA title as Tuohy started to get run down and attempted a 1500-5000 double. Can you imagine a similarly destructive argument around Britton Wilson and Adeleke. They both are great (and different) runners. If Valby goes for the Steeple, it's unlikely they'll even race when it counts.

Let's not. Leer was not pacing Tuohy... she was running her own race. You can make your point without making things up.
Valby ran 20 seconds faster than what Tuohy at this meet last year. Imagine what she will do outdoor in the same conditions that Tuohy ran 15:03. Holy cow.
She may break 14!!!
Ikr?? OMG! Kipyegon and Tsegay are GOING DOWN!! 😂 They can’t fight the MANIA!! LOLOL
Rodenfels really not that happy about being the de facto pacer and missing sub 15 . I guess her Achilles bothered her during the race and she was recovering from illness ..
