How hard would it be to get two motorcycles with cameras on the lead Americans? It’s a marathon major in the US, surely someone on the production team understands the value in doing so.
There is no value. More viewers are interested in coverage of the banana table, frankly.
As someone who spends time with people other than running nerds, let me break it to you that incredibly few people care about what Mantz does today.
This is my 1st time watching a marathon so I don't really know what "good" coverage is, but does anyone watching a marathon care about the medal, the bananas and the beer at the finish?
Eurosport has a fairly good coverage. decent commentary. no breaks. no hobby runners. however, not a lot of women racing and still too much wheelchair-borness.

Flotrack zero cut away. Zero human interest. I would recommend that instead of following the elite wheelchairs, they follow the top Americans and have 4 screens with that.
