Even if you hate Trump, this shouldn’t be cause for celebration. It’s sending a clear message that anyone outside of the DC establishment need not apply.

This is overly long, but the issue isn’t simple.
I genuinely want to understand how you receive and process your information, because I agree that the matter of bringing charges against any citizen is serious, especially so when the citizen is a viable candidate for high office.
First, do you acknowledge that there were multiple attempts at the “quiet investigations” tack on Trump prior to the raids? The matter could have been handled quietly and without charges if Trump and his team had acted differently. He is by nature combative and recalcitrant, though.
I agree that it’s anywhere from bad optics to the risk of corruption for one administration to be involved in the investigation of a political rival. Of course, remove “administration” and that’s often a feature of investigations in politics. The role of the special prosecutor is designed to help sidestep these problems. Although Jack Smith was appointed by Garland, it’s not as though he’s partisan in the way you can say Schiff is. So what is your problem with the potential objectivity and authority of Smith and the grand jury in this matter?
In that vein, you say “we are now learning” about problems with Pres. Biden. Perhaps. My initial sense, though, is that highly partisan politicians and news outlets are providing this info. Saying that doesn’t mean I don’t believe it could eventually be proven true, just that I personally wouldn’t lend much credence to it now. Much in the same way, I’d never say, well if Nancy Pelosi and MSNBC say Trump is unethical, he must be unethical. I simply tune that noise out instead.
So even if you and I might not share perfect common ground on a standard of objectivity, then please let me know: If the role played by Smith & the grand jury offers sufficient objectivity, then fine. If not, how should this process be improved? What should be followed? Are you seeking that level of objectivity in an investigation of Biden? I’m assuming that you’d expect a reasonable process to bring charges against Biden after he leaves office. But if you outline such a process in advance and try to adhere to standards of objectivity in doing so, will you accept the results if no charges are brought? Will you demand an objective, clearly legal process? That’s what I’m seeking for anyone.

To those who said Trump was treated differently I will say...I agree.
He was treated better. The government bent over backwards, asking nicely multiple times to return the highly classified documents. When he presented that he had returned them all, knowing full that wasn't the case. the government then issued a subpoena. Trump then from what I can surmise took steps to conceal and/or destroy the documents he illegally retained and enlisted the help of others to do so.
An ordinary bloke would not have been extended this courtesy over one classified doc, much more hundreds of highly classified top secret documents.
He simply had to comply but l suspect he believes laws only apply to plebs and he is above the law.
