5 sub 3s in the prelims. what is going on???

OK. Lets put this into context. Last year in Eugene ONE TEAM broke 3 in the heats. 2nd place in the heats would have BARELY made it into the finals.

in the finals 4 TEAMS BROKE 3. 5 teams broke 3 today in the PRELIMS.

Seriously! Didn’t he graduate high school in 2017??? How does he still have eligibility? And to think he’s coming back in the fall for cross country? How is this possible? Even with the extra Covid year. Time to go pro Casey! Time to move on.

1 Covid year

Normal 5 years to complete 4 years of eligibility (a redshirt year)

8 years from 2017 goes to 2025

*Looks like he redshirted indoors so was Sophomore this year but is a Jr for outdoors.

This may be true, but McCarthy was HS class of 2020, so he would have barely raced his senior year because of the pandemic.
