You slither around with your deflections - "as-is" is implicitly recognition that there is a problem with biological males competing "as-is" against females. But that's what many claim they should be able to do. Sporting bodies are trying to devise solutions that may satisfy both sides of the argument. But the argument begins with the insistence that trans women have a right to compete as women. For those who believe women's sport - female sport - is a protected category that is unacceptable.

Good luck to your daughter this weekend! It's great that she is competing in the California 1600 State Championships. The most important thing is for her to do her best and have fun. Encourage her to focus on her own performance rather than worrying about what the other competitors are doing. Remind her that she has worked hard to get here and should be proud of herself no matter how she places in the race. Cheer her on and let her know you are proud of all of her accomplishments. Finally, make sure she gets plenty of rest before the race so that she can perform at her best. Wishing your daughter all the best this weekend!

Maybe Adeline actually supports Athena. Nobody on this thread has a f’ing clue one way or another beyond this unequivocal statement from the school. The whole thumbs down narrative is likely to be a total manipulation by those invested in seeing Athena barred. At least concede you don’t know one way or another Adeline’s view of the issue.
You are correct......they didn't have to. Biden signed an Executive Order at the beginning of his administration mandating that biological boys can compete against biological girls as long as they identified as female.

Why do you think these girls wouldn't be upset about a bio male beating them at an important meet?

The real girls in the race should get on the line and before the gun goes off - all of them walk back into the stands.

And girls getting kicked off teams and losing scholarships. Refusing to compete is probably the worst thing that can be done in sports and anyone who participated in a boycott probably won’t even be allowed to walk-on in college.
