They just showed a side by side and Walmsley is clearly moving faster and smoother. iRun says he's under course record pace.

Yeah Jim still has a lot of bounce, but Kilian seems to be flagging.
Kilian definitely looks a little worked, Jim looking smoother but still a bit early. If Jim can keep cranking I might just win this thing!

Correction, *he might just win this thing! Lol not I
What’s he wearing? Looks similar to Carbon X but with a megagrip outsole
And here I thought Jim was posting live updates on LR! 🤪

I was wondering that. He keeps training in a Hoka "Innovation" shoe, so we'll probably find out when they market it as the shoe that won UTMB (hopefull).
Blanchard only 5 minutes back of Kilian. This should get spicy!

He's moving like a boss now! Nobody catches him unless he craters.

Yeah I'm betting Blanchard catches - Kilian looks worked.
Not sure how accurate the UTMB page's "estimated in" times are, but it's now showing Walms with a 23 min projected lead and growing.

That's projected ETA to the next aid. Not perfect by any means, but relatively close.
I saw that as well. I'm pretty sure there's been some technical difficulties with the tracking.

Man I love DBo and he does a fantastic job of commentating for these long events but I really wish he'd stop talking over the English translations of the conversations happening in
Courmayeur. Getting an inside take from people who are there, runner's crews, etc is far more interesting than him reading out a racer's ultrasignup history...
DBo is a great, enthusiastic cheerleader for the sport, but his biggest flaw as an interviewer or commentator is talking over interesting material/people.

The GPS reception cuts in/out sometimes depending on terrain.

Going into La Fouly the estimated in gap was around 7 minutes over Killian, so that's a big increase if it's accurate.

Yeah that was the projection but it ended up 13 minutes.

French Jim is just hitting different. I hope he can pull it off and his fellow pickle bro is at the finish.

He really does look smooth...like he's holding back a lot on this downhill.
