Pretty solid run for Sage Hurta. I do believe her future is in the 1500 but races like this make me wonder. That said, the 800 team will be pretty tough to make if Mu is any kind of form.
Between her and Klecker their little runner couple has had quite a meet.
Is this steeple going super fast? I don’t think the pace is crazy. Coburn and Frerichs do not look good at all. They just zoomed in in a Obiri going over a water jump and she looked sluggish.
I think Coburn is actually pacing this well, but it's hard to run on your own and wind the pace up/catch up to people as opposed to running with a pack. But I think it was the better decision compared to going with the lead group.
Don't forget all times at that meet were "slow" due to the horrible weather....it was also her 2nd race of the year....today's weather isn't great but better hence the improved 10.92 SB, but more importantly her 2nd place.
Great run from the best US sprinter and potentially the best in the world.
