Media silent about this but if he was hospitalized with covid they'd run stories about it constantly for 5 straight days. Time to wake up.
This thread was deleted by a volunteer moderator. I certainly don't want a thread this big deleted so I've restored. THat being said, this thread has served it's purpose. I've closed it to new posts.
We have a new 2024 vaccine thread here. New people don't need to try to wade through 20,000 posts to figure out what is going on.

New York Breakthrough case study defies all logic:
https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/covid-19-breakthrough-data
Magic vaccines in New York somehow are maintaining 77.8% efficacy against COVID infection for those 18+.
Rest of the world, not so much.
UKHSA data came out today.
Somehow in the UK the 18+ vaccinated population are testing positive for COVID at a rate 71% higher than the unvaccinated. Average vaccinated case rate is 4,321 cases per 100k, average case rate for unvaccinated is 2,522 per 100k.
Ontario case rates are still 30% higher among the vaccinated than the unvaccinated.
https://covid-19.ontario.ca/data/case-numbers-and-spread
A doctor in Ontario couldn't even went so far as to say about their vaccines that:
"Vaccine protection against infection is melting like snow under the sun," Jüni said in an interview on CBC News Network. "Omicron is evading the immune system.
"In reality, there is no way — if it comes to infection — to distinguish anymore between a person who is not vaccinated and a person who has received two doses."
Could New York please share its vaccine secrets with the rest of the world, because nowhere else are vaccines still preventing people from contracting COVID to such a degree. Among my close relatives, I know 6 individuals who have boosters and 4 have COVID. Obviously they are not using the same magic vaccines that New Yorkers are. Do any New Yorkers wish to chime in with the secret?

92% protection against hospitalization. Well into the Omicron surge in NY.

For the 100th time. Directly from the document:
Comparing case rates among vaccinated and unvaccinated populations should not be used to estimate vaccine effectiveness against COVID-19 infection. Vaccine effectiveness has been formally estimated from a number of different sources and is summarised on pages 5 to 17 in this report.
On page 13-17 of the document you posted:
UK estimates 50-70% VE against Omicron infection with boosted mRNA and 88% VE against hospitalization with for a boosted person (any vaccine combo).
Agrees quite well with the NYC data! Thanks for the links.
It's coming to an end fear mongers.
The CEO of Moderna says that a fourth coronavirus vaccine shot may soon be necessary due to declining efficacy of booster shots.
"I will be surprised when we get that data in the coming weeks that it’s holding nicely over time — I would expect that it’s not gonna hold great," Moderna CEO Stephane Bancel told CNBC on Thursday regarding the strength of the booster shots. "I still believe we’re going to need boosters in the fall of ’22 and forward."

Doing nothing works even better. No hospitalization or heart problems amongst all the non-vaccinated people I know.

Because what they're saying is not the same as what's really happening.

Exactly, and the same for me.

New York claims 77.8% efficiency against infection for two doses. Look at the chart from the UK. Shows two dose efficiency against Omicron for Pfizer, Moderna and Oxford at most 10% and in some cases negative. Explain how that agrees with data from New York.
As far as hospitalizations are concerned, they have maybe two weeks of hospital data on Omicron in a report that covers 4 weeks, so I wouldn't run to the bank with the preliminary hospital data just yet, especially with the way hospitals are filling up in the US and Canada (with an increased share of the total having been vaccinated).
"Further data is needed to estimate the duration of protection against hospitalisation."
And 52-72% VE against hospitalization for two dose vaccinated individuals is nowhere near the 92.3% VE claim made by New York.

Calling it a booster is being pretty generous with the semantics given such a short time frame. It's just another round of shots that don't work very well or last very long.
Honestly any NFL team can tell you the 77.8% efficiency is a made-up number. There are teams where over half the roster tested positive for COVID last month, and the vast majority are vaccinated. The NFL is close to 97% vaccinated. (that implies that with 53 man rosters on the 32 teams, if 3% are unvaccinated, that comes out to 51 players unvaccinated. If everyone of those players were to test positive and 22.2% of the remaining 1,645 players were to test positive, that would yield an additional 365 players that would test positive. If you put all 1,696 in an enclosed space with each other and had them do a cross fit class without air conditioning and get as much spread as is possible with 97% vaccinated with a vaccine that is allegedly 77.8% effective, you would end up with a total of 416 cases. During the month of December, the NFL had almost 600 players test positive for COVID. That is not possible with New York's vaccines, so they need to share that magic recipe with the NFL and the rest of us.

The Jab works great.
You just need to keep taking another one every few months.
How long can they keep the scam going?
Vaxxed and boosted talk show hosts are getting COVID right and left (okay, mostly left): James Corden, Jimmy Fallon, Whoopi Goldberg, and Seth Meyers.
Only took them 22 months.
Massachusetts will change how it reports COVID-19 hospitalizations next week
State officials will begin distinguishing between patients who were admitted because of COVID-19 and those who were unknowingly admitted with the virus.
‘Vast majority’ of COVID patients hospitalized in CT have not been boosted, officials say
The percentage of vaccinated COVID patients in Connecticut hospitals has increased dramatically since the omicron variant began spreading across the state.

Though note that Canada's current covid hospitalization rate is less than half that of the US. Given that Canada's population is over 77% fully vaxed and US is still only around 62%, one suspects that vaccines are working.

They could have been making the distinction for a long time, but chose not to because they were able to get more money from medicare and medicaid programs that way and it benefitted them politically. Now that vaccinated people are hitting hospitals in droves, they are going to make the distinction, because the alternative is political death. Then they would have to acknowledge that vaccinated individuals are hitting hospitals at the same rate as unvaccinated individuals, as they are in Ontario.
What compels you guys to come on here and spout nonsense all day?
Are you shut ins?
Institutionalized in some way?
Whatever it is, you look and sound like utter fools.

You ever been to Canada? Things are a little more spread out than in the US. Additionally, mask use is a bigger factor. In Canada, mask usage is about 73%. In the US, it is about 38%. In Japan, it is 92%. Nobody wants to wear masks, but they really do curb COVID rates (much better than vaccinations at this point).
