I see an awful lot of posts on this thread saying something like "I couldn't care less how she identifies," immediately followed by a rant against trans and nonbinary identities. I see plenty of posts claiming that being trans or nonbinary is a mental disorder, often with a link to a diagnostic definition of gender dysphoria or similar (gender dysphoria is common for trans and nonbinary folks, but being trans or nonbinary isn't itself a pathology or disorder). I see a bunch of posts complaining about Nikki's original announcement, saying "why is that something that needs to be said publicly?" I would counter with "why is it any of your concern?" Assuming they aren't altering their physiology, there's no reason Nikki wouldn't continue competing in the women's division -- especially as there's no suggestion as of now that doing so is an issue for them personally. People publish anything and everything onto the internet, including plenty of cruel and trollish content. Why is this bit of positivity the thing that sets you off?
Please don't reply to this with your endless "debating" over people's identities or pronouns, you're boring.
