That theory has been thrown around forever. Or...believe that there is a higher power and that we all have purpose. That life is the ultimate test on how we treat each other. You probably think the Bible is fake and that all of those powerful words, words and thoughts that you could never come up with on your best day, were written by who? Have you ever read any of it? You have my pity sir.
Such hubris to think that your religion, of all the 1,000's of religions and cultures, is 'the' one.
How old are you? Still wait for Santa to come down the chimney too?

Look at you, convinced 3 billion people are completely wrong about something you know little about.

I reckon you should first argue with the Muslims (1.8 bn, fastest growing religion) which of you is right. Then the Hindus (1.2 bn).
Of course, it's likely your religious choices are the result of where you were born, little more. Had you been born in India you'd be going on about reincarnation as we speak.
I find it interesting to contemplate that the molecules of which I am made were created at the beginning of the universe. At my end they will continue, in some other form. I suppose that is a form of "eternal" existence, even if I am not conscious of it. The universe has loaned those molecules to me for a fractional moment in its history - but there is probably no "me" without them. I have to be grateful for the moment that is me, while acknowledging I am but one passing ripple in the ocean of existence.

Christianity may or may not be correct on its view of the Universe (I’m going to say incorrect) but there’s no denying that it became the world’s most popular religion by the use of the force, rather than an appeal to its principles.

I have no doubt that you believe that sincerely.
Again: People don't get to *choose* their beliefs or nonbeliefs. So as long as they don't use force, or the threat of force, to impose their beliefs on others--and, in particular, don't try to enlist the physical or economic force of government to do so--I think it's all good.
I choose my beliefs freely. God created Earth in the material universe for the free will return of human beings to God. As long as he reveals himself too easily our belief will be compelled and it will do us or him no good. And as long as you keep yourself far from him with your God denial and materialism, you will remain in your soul death. Nevertheless he is not far from any of us, but it takes love and humility to find him.
If you spent three hours on the subreddit, you would at least have to admit that we live after death even if you still deny a God. Here, I linked it for you
https://old.reddit.com/r/AstralProjection/top/Don’t be slothful, look it up. This matter is too important to treat lightly.
Pinning your hopes and dreams--and decision-making--on an afterlife, a "better place," detracts from the value and commitment to this life, this world. Some call it their "reward." Maybe if those people realized and accepted that this is it, your one and only shot at a totally wonderful experience in this world now then they would be more appreciative snd work smarter to maintain it in decent condition. And not destroy it as is now happening.
you die, lights out. that's it.
Christians have the ultimate trump card: faith.
Reason, logic, common sense, critical thinking; none of these things matter when the response is: "But only faith matters!"
I'd argue it is a wasted cause to attempt any sort of discourse whatsoever with them.
Having spent a year in a predominantly non-Christian country I can tell you this...
People are people no matter what religion they follow or don't follow.

I feel like scale is something not considered enough in these theories. We are made up of a lot of living things that have varying lifetimes. Like skin cells for example. What happens after they die? From our perspective it doesn't matter. We are only concerned with what happens on a human timescale. There are things that come alive, live, and then die on such a fast timescale that their entire lives exist within a moment of our time. Sorry I don't have an example of that but I'm certain they exist. I suppose you could say they are different because they aren't intelligent life forms. But if we zoom out over space or time, we as individuals are only part of something much larger that is possibly living and intelligent, and maybe lives for hundreds or thousands or millions of years.
On what timescale does what we call life really exist? What we call a rock might actually be a living thing that just lives on a much longer timescale. I think everythingthing is alive in that sense.

Wow, what a thoroughly mean and condescending response, even for being anonymous. You disagree with John3:16, fine, but why be such a jerk? Faith is faith. If you don’t believe in Jesus and his sacrifices, don’t, it’s your eternity. You don’t even have my pity for such an arrogant response full of anger.

He said nothing rude. He simply said your beliefs were egotistical.
Listen, if you’re going to preach a weighty topic like eternal hrllfire uninvited to people, they’re allowed to fire back. This is not a one way street.

Pretty sure that "Sure Jan" condescendingly gave "John 3:16" his pity...only AFTER John condescendingly gave Jan *his* pity.
Who knows, maybe the pity from both of them was sincere and not condescending at all.

Yeah, you'll post link about politics that no one reading this forum can factually verify, but it fits your narrative so you post it because you "believe" it.
But the lady above, who actually died and came back is making it up. Okay.
The video is short, but some of you may not want to watch at 3:44 in the video.

Who said she’s lying? But she was very familiar with these concepts before this experience, and then went through a period where her brain was losing oxygen, and there’s no reason to assume that her experience was supernatural and not neurochemical in nature.
After death you are dead. That's it! Game over.
There is no afterlife. Religion that focuses on an afterlife are just pawns of governments that use religion to control the masses. Same concept as "you better be a good boy/girl or Santa won't come and give you lots of presents".

IMHO, reincarnation.
In Buddhism/Hinduism that is the case.
