Yeah, no reason to think any of them had an “off day,” really. Engels ran 1:46i recently but he’s run 1:44/3:34 PBs outdoors, so not sure why we should expect better than 3:36 form. Efraimson fared a bit better than she did in her recent 2:05 800. Jenkins didn’t win with a big kick like I predicted, but 8:19y isn’t shabby, maybe just where his speed is at now. And I’m sure Grice wishes he’d been 2nd or better, but Arop is legit and a U.K. NR is a solid day at the office.
All good points an observations. In terms of time these guys did run well. I guess I just expect the former NOP members to be more competitive in terms of place.

Would removing the swoosh material save a tiny bit of weight and give them a slight competitive advantage over Nike runners in the same spikes with the swooshes? I suppose it would matter more in longer races.

They weren't too bad today but the NBC Olympic Gold productions are typically superb in quality thanks to Tim Hutchings, Steve Cram, Ovett, i.e. the British influence. You get long intros to each race, closeups of the runners.
I thought Des Linden did very well today, exceeded expectations IMHO. Too bad that NBC didn't have a closeup of her with Ato. They are superstars and deserve some respect.
Des Linden ruined the meet for me. Please never let her be a commentator at a meet again. She was awful and very hard to listen to.

Sydney got dusted, let even before the first hurdle. She has no explosive power the 60MH is toatally not her event and that bs explanation about her dominant leg was a weak explanation for getting dusted.
What was nice to see is Hannah Cunliffe back in form and Gabby Thomas taking the 300M.

Your take is the first negative I've seen on Des' 'performance'. And that's saying a lot as folks on here love to cut down our T & F announcers.
