Strava goes political. What are your thoughts? Should I delete the App?

This Brookings piece is some of the worst research imaginable. For starters, 30 years ago these states were clearly Republican and they had the same if not a greater percentage of GDP. Also it fails to point out that people who live out of cities (Trump districts) but do their shopping in the large Dem controlled metropolitan areas. Finance is a big chunk of gdp and that takes place in cities.

Excellent research. Maybe if you give that “data” you’re citing to Strava, Nike, and Saucony, they might not post “political” statements that piss off their target demographic.

Or maybe the “data” you cite (oh can you please point me to that research? I think you just left it out of your response unintentionally) is just a bunch of horse crap.

I watch several news channels and read several different online media outlets for my political information. I dont need my social fitness platform to feed me their view on politics. Nor do I need my workplace or college or sports channel (ESPN). They just can't help themselves to push this crap on to the people.

Strava is easy to ditch. If you have a pair and disagree politically you should delete too.

Need to figure out how to make a living for a company that doesn't feed the SJW machine...if there are any left.

Why is it so hard to ignore it if you feel that strongly about society being called out for how two groups of people were treated differently. One group was actually protesting for a cause. There were thousands of arrests and many cases of police using force over the summer - you can’t bemoan parroting false narratives while turning around and parroting false narratives.

It is about leaving politics or any other divisive stances out of an exercise app. People want a place they can go to get away from all the craziness happening right now. Endurance sports are a way for us to bond together despite our differences. The memo does the exact opposite of that. Does that make sense?

It's very timely that you posted this. I saw the banner on their app homepage and deleted the app on the spot. They are propagating a false narrative and the double standard is astonishing. The Capitol riot was, quite frankly, child's play compared to what BLM and ANTIFA did all summer, not to mention there is a preponderance of evidence that left wing, ANTIFA agitators fomented the chaos at the Capitol! Personally, I don't want to support any of these propagandist "woke" organizations pushing this Communist dogma cloaked in "racial justice." What's good for the goose is good for the gander!

No. You are wrong. Factually wrong. The Black Lives Matter movement advocates for equal treatment and justice under the law. The Capitol mob was trying to undermine the democratic process, which should be sacrosanct to actual "patriots." The two are not comparable. Even if there were moments of violence at summer protests, comparing them to the Capitol insurrection is apples and oranges.

Strava supporting equality in this country is only "political" if you consider advocating white supremacy and voter suppression a valid political position to take in a democratic society. Most of us do not.
