1) I agree the sky isn't falling...that is if you are talking about TODAY with TODAY'S ecomony considered and still in a Biden Presidency. The sky COULD fall under Trump, but that is yet to be determined.
2) I don't believe the tariff talk will be walked back. He imposed them last time. No reason to think he won't do so again.
3) The mass deportation talk won't be walked back, BUT it may be MUCH harder to accomplish than he thinks, so the reality is that it won't happen on the kind of scale he has suggested...but not because he doesn't want it to. Oh, and no matter the level of deportations (there are deportations under ALL Presidencies, and Obama was dubbed, "the deporter-in-Chief"), Trump will tout, lie, exaggerate the level of deportations.
4) I don't think pressure from Trump will make The Fed do anything.
5) The Fed actually SHOULD lower rates now though. The economy has been screaming along, and the unemployment rate is not at the absurdly low rates of mid 3% anymore. Yes, that will boost the stock market, but that's what SHOULD happen. I don't need it to boost markets for me personally, and I don't care that it would be a talking point that helps Trump. I ONLY care about what SHOULD be, and right now, The Fed should start to aggressively lower rates. That benefits Americans, especially those wanting to buy a home, and we're in a position to have those lower rates.
Sure the sky could fall. But why live in fear of such an event? I'm just not going to listen to 99.9% of what he says. He's a blowhard.
Trumpers spent the last 4 years claiming everything was the worst, just because Biden was in charge. Their claims didn't line up with reality. The truth is the US economy thrived under Biden, compared to the rest of the world. You'll never be able to convince the die hard Trumpers of that fact.
Why make the same mistake they make? Why assume everything is awful, just because Trump is now in charge?
Not living in fear. I do KNOW that he will do some stupid sh!t while President, but I do not believe it is irreparable...unless he manages to stay in office beyond the limit of his term...then it will be...and that percentage chance is low but not zero.
I am absolutely NOT saying things (especially economically) will be awful just because Trump is in charge. You are not reading and understanding correctly. In fact, the economy is set up right now to contiue to do well even with Trump at the helm. The unemployment rate isn't likely to go up a lot. The stock market likely WILL go up, maybe even significantly under Trump's second term, because indicators are that it will, helped by The Fed lowering interest rates which it likely will do. I am ONLY talking about the things he has said he wants to do. Regarding Greenland, a LOT of elected Republican officials are touting it as a great idea. No, it's not. It is very dangerous to be talking that way. We should not be in the business of acquiring countries and territories...other than MAYBE eventually having Puerto Rico become a state...but it is already an American territory.
Trump isn't JUST a blowhard. He already did the tariff thing in his first administration, and he's dead serious about Greenland, The Panama Canal, and Canada. He wants to go after those things. With the "yes men" he has installed, it's hard to think that anyone will say no to him. Perhaps the generals will. Perhaps he will actually be swayed by international law.
The problem with Trump is that he lives in his own reality that isn't actual reality. He's insane. He's delusional. He's a psychopath. He's also a criminal who has no respect for the rule of law. These are facts about him, and that makes him unpredictable and dangerous. This isn't the same at all as looking at a great economy under Biden and saying it wasn't great. I have the power of discernment. I made a ton of money when Trump was President the first time, and other than when dealing with the pandemic at the end of his presidency, the economy was good...again though, how the economy does currently has next to nothing to do with the President in office at the time. I have made a ton of money during every presidency since 1989, and I will continue to do that as long as our system of government is allowed to continue.

I understand the concern. I just can't live like that. I guess I'm choosing to take the insanity as it comes, rather than spending energy speculating about how bad it can be.
He will have a friendly Congress with a slim majority that will pass a tax cut for wealthy people and a few smaller niche issues that don’t mean much in reality. With the slim majority and a recession on the way, a lot of Republicans in swing districts are going to be reticent to passing anything controversial. If Trump can’t get it passed in his first 100 days, then it isn’t going to happen.
Stacking his cabinet with cronies and people of dubious competence will be just like last time. Having a TV show or running a small fringe think tank doesn’t prepare you for managing a large bureaucracy. The civil servants run the show and he can’t get rid of them as easily as he thinks.
Most of the time, he will just bluster and rage tweet to keep the base engaged. Like before, he will blame his failure to get much done on Dems, the media, and The Deep State.
In 2029, we will not own Greenland, Panama, or Canada.
Musk will probably get marginalized by MAGA. Ramaswamy will quit at the first show of legal resistance from federal workers and their unions.
He will probably get to appoint one SCOTUS judge as Thomas will likely retire. That’s a wash.
He will continue to fleece his flock of rubes through fundraising and crappy merch sales.
Democrats take back the House in 2026. Trump becomes an even lamer duck.
America looks pretty much the same as it does now with a few less illegals and a completed steel border fence.
There is a good chance (greater than 50%) that what you say there is true. The two main things that are different this time than last time though (which could make some of those things NOT true) are:
1) He doesn't have to even remotely toe any legal or moral line because he won't be running again (either his term ends and that's it, or he becomes a dictator and that's it).
2) He has surrounded himself with sycophants who will go with anything he says, and that is different than last time when there were actually some reasonable people initially in his administration.

The insanity has already started. Talking about Greenland and The Panama Canal and Canada like he is IS the insane action. Just talking about it is insane. These are allies. You just bury your head in the sand if you don't see this as dangerous...that's not living in fear...that's just living in reality. Bury your head in the sand if you want...that is a defense mechanism that many people use. I choose not to.

Greenland and The Panama Canal and Canada = Distraction.
He knows he can't deliver on his promises so he throws that nonsense out to distract from his incompetence.
I'm not burying my head in the sand. I'm refusing to take the bait.
you have zero qualifications for sec def, and in fact you've wrecked both tiny organizations you've managed.
your personal history is a train wreck, with multiple divorces, drunken episodes, out of wedlok pregnancies, non-disclosure agreements, demotions...and you've allowed yourself to be blackmailed.
everyone knows you are unqualified for one of the hardest and most important positions on the planet but everyone is too scared of m'aga to vote against you.
that's the #2 guy in the nuclear command. And the guy in charge of the billions and billions that flow to the pentagon.
a lifetime screwup whose only qualification is that trump has a man crush on him.
AND THEN you have the weak backbone to say DEI is the problem. When if Hegseth was 5'5'', a sikh and 125 pounds he wouldn't have been given any job whatsoever. Hegseth is a pure DEI hire.
Imagine if a black man had the family moral dysfunction of hegseth, baby mamas, divorces, drunken cheating, assaults, and imagine if the Rs would say 'well that's ok you're better now.' good grief.
No dudes competing in women's sports. Get with the program, woke/stupid dems.
Why are so many dems anti-women?
206 Democrats voted for men stealing women’s sports scholarships, trophies including financial earnings, and ability to compete fairly. The party that claims to be pro women and science is neither. pic.twitter.com/24x0u3MxqQ

I think flag pole was right. You’re weird.
Pretty obvious you are triggered because you have a smidgen of self awareness left and know just how spineless and morally corrupt you are

Hegseth is the opposite of a DEI hire.
If you want to see DEI, go look at "rachel" Levine, Sam brinton, Karine Jean Pierre, Buttigieg, Ketanji, etc
“Dear Every Single Trump Supporter, Donald Trump didn’t even HAVE a transition in 2020. He didn’t participate AT ALL in a peaceful transfer of power. He refused to accept his election loss. And bcuz you said you’re ok with all of that, you’ve forfeited any right to whine or complain about anything Democrats do or don’t do in the transition. Sorry about that. Sincerely, A Fellow American”

Sleepy Joe could not even remember his SecDef's name. He called him "the black man."
