I don’t think Mike is getting this job. From what I hear it’s wide open and some big names are interested

My wife has never coached or competed in track. I’ve talked to her enough about the sport that she told me she can go ahead and get into coaching and become a HC and she’ll hire me as an assistant. I am pretty sure she could very well do this in 2-3 years.
Well that’s one way to get in. I think I will talk to my wife about getting me in the door like that too.
Ya'll are just figuring out what Drew Peterson at Davis and Andy Powell at Oregon put together years ago? And what Robert Gary is going to do as soon as that SEC director job comes calling for Rita?

Well the difference here is their wives actually know what they're doing. Including Rita.

You can't even put Emma Peterson In the same atmosphere that Rita and Maurica are in. Let's be fair here

You really think you can’t teach someone especially that close to you how to “coach” track and field especially distance. LOL… they’re already hiring women that are Inexperienced anyway at least an older women with some life experience who’s learned about the sport from an experienced coach(husband) surely can handle this just fine. If you don’t believe that you’re delusional!

I don't disagree but Drew and Emma don't even touch Maurica and Rita. That is a fact!! How many All Americans does those two have from Davis ?
It’s Davis Vs Washington and Oregon. Should it even be close?

If Peterson got the same exact talent as those groups she would do well with them. But also, we aren't comparing these three, were comparing the collective to some random poster's wife who thinks he knows enough to mansplain it to his poor spouse.

Idk but I would hope not, this person is an asshat. Is winny a man, women, or non-binary?
Western Illinois University Head Track & Field/Cross Country now to go along with Assistant. https://wiu.interviewexchange.com/jobofferdetails.jsp?JOBID=133130
Malm was in way over his head. He was hired just before the start of the cross country season after the athletic director terminated the previous coach. Malm had no clue how to coach a cross country team, run practices, etc.
Malm pretty much was floundering as a cross country coach. He was lucky he had an assistant coach with a lot of experience.
Track season under Malm was even more of a circus. I do not know who the other candidates were when he was hired but they definitely didn't make a good hire on this one.
Now in addition to Malm leaving the assistant coach has left.
I would put most of the blame on the athletic director. He seems to make the XCTF programs a low priority. He put Malm with limited experience in a no-win position.
As to your comment about it being a terrible environment, I think you hit the nail on the head.
Winnythebish IS Emma Peterson. It’s been said numerous times on here.

Well Davis vs Furman is a fair argument? Furman’s got a ton of women AA... they’re killing it.

You say this like we suppose to know this person. Lord wonder she felt some way about the wife comment. Looking at her experience the guy is probably right.
Entire staff at Texas State is out
