The loudest on Twitter can be a bit absurd from both parties, though the intelligence disparity is still pretty obvious among the Red and Blue cohorts of perpetually online click harvesters.

The more concerning segment of MAGA (now effectively synonymous with “Republican”) is folks I come in contact with in day to day life that desperately refuse to say anything negative about Trump.

It’s fairly easy to get a majority of Democrats to list things about Democratic politicians (president or not) that they don’t like or believe could use work. It’s damn near impossible to get any Trump supporter to say something negative about Trump. In fact, quite the opposite: they’ll allow THEMSELVES to look stupid and without conviction to steer their words back into the flow of whatever Trump’s schizophrenic rant is saying at the moment.

The clunky spins on the economy and international aggression are just two recent and obvious examples of this.

I’m not religious, but his religious supporters choosing Trump over religious figures who have spoken out against him was pretty eye opening to see.

His pro troops supporters have watched him mock veterans, skip memorial services, and call POWs losers and still have found ways to conform their opinion to align with his. That has been very wild to see.

These are some of the segments of society that seemed to have had the most static belief sets, but they’ve all deferred opinion to Trump. It has been really incredible to watch this play out over these last 10 years and counting.

It’s hard to not label this a cult.
