When your incessant rhetoric is about how the other guy is an *existential* threat to Democracy but your own party is much better at playing the Kabuki theatre and pretending you’re no threat at all while doing nothing but amplifying the threat level, you should expect lots of suspicion and pushback. Flagpole called it all nonsense with no solid rebuttal other than “just look at Trump.” But it’s not nonsense. It’s all very true.
Ultimately, people are going to vote on their perception of crime (and immigration) and prices at the store. Even as abortion is the number one topic of the progressive base, it’s way down on the list for most normal voters (outside the Taylor Swift caste). Plus, war exhaustion is creeping in, an issue we didn’t have some five years ago, which is why the Democrats used taxpayer funded military planes to fly Zelensky to Pennsylvania (her, why there?) to appeal to voters for more money (and to take shots at Trump/Vance). A campaign stop. Pretty sure Trump got impeached for something similar. People can smell the hypocrisy.

Cry about it. Trump was in power, he operation "rocket speeded" the vaccines, and played a huge role in how things played out in 2020. But he claimed to "drain the swamp" and touted how powerful he was and brought all of you along for the ride. So either A) he wasn't all powerful, got duped and manipulated by those around him, making him a true weakling or B) he was complicit in everything and duped all of you to thinking he was on your side.
