Okay i will take the bait. What has Roberts done since he has been at UNC? Here is an idea why don't they hire a men's coach and women's coach and not have Roberts as one of those coaches?

No, we established he ran for Baylor and graduated from both Baylor and UNC, making him a UNC alum with strong ties to the school and program.

Roberts is a great recruiter, unc is a sleeping giant, but that does not mean he should be head coach, for the programs sake though he should be kept on as assistant

Can you imagine if Roberts is retained , what next Bobby Lockhart gets the job? Wow that would be a winning combo. Lockhart is the back up singer in 98 degrees, he is not the lead guy. That would be Dave Smith, so I doubt the head coach is going to go for qa back up like Smith at Syracuse and Lockhart OSU, Vanhoy is Alum and is his own solo act. That is what you want someone who can make it on their own.

Did Patty Leave, or was she not renewed? They qualified for their first NCAA meet and beat USF and BYU just two and a half years ago....they have had trouble keeping their top girls healthy and I’ve heard they don’t have as many scholarships as you might think but I could be wrong there.

Someone should be able to get that thing going I would assume with the talent in the area.

I don't know what you guys don't get. VanHoy makes too much to go to UNC. It would be over a $20k paycut. Not going to happen. Texas and Oregon will be possibilities for him which would make UNC more like a $40-50k pay cut. 0% chance Roberts or VanHoy is the head coach. Lockhart would be a great level coach for them to get. One of the best coaches they could possibly get. I am surprised he is even interested to be honest.

The UNC coach will be a state employee. North Carolina has a history of paying their state employees as little as possible. Unless you are a head basketball/football coach at one of the state universities. The head XC/distance coach at UNC will make less than the assistant XC/distance coach at NC State. The UNC job will be between $50,000-$70,000.

It will be Roberts, the team will respond with a breakout year and he will be retained.
