Give Mizzou head Coach a break, He got NCAA Xc nationals to come to Columbia!!!
Huh? How do you know the head track coach got NCAA XC to Columbia? Prob the Head XC Coach and or City of Columbia or the Sport AD. Not Brett Halter come on!
WOW , people are really getting dumber, Brett Halter is the Head Cross Country coach and program director, you really think he is not involved in this, Levermore, just recruits & coaches the athletes.
The University of Portland is a National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Division I institution and West Coast Conference (WCC) member located in Portland, Oregon. This part-time position will be responsible for suppo...
Scheving leaving to go back to Buffalo this past week puts Canisius in a tough position. Downstream effects from Witzleben leaving Buffalo for Manhattan. None of the assistants at Canisius seem willing or able to step up into the full-time head coach role. Will be interesting to see what direction they go in. Low pressure environment for a newer/younger coach trying to get their feet wet at the D1 level.
Nah realisticly Canisius is going to be fine and cruce the MAAC at the championships and go on to horns down UB at regionals to take the national title for the next 6 or 7 years

Seems like a Canisius cross country freshmen has found his way onto this thread lol... In all seriousness, I have been keeping up with the growth of the Canisius mens team and in the past few years they have seen exponential growth. Starting to look like they are getting back to around the form they had in 2015! My guess there assistant coach Austin Oetinger (Canisius class of 2020) will be managing most of the load and possibly stepping up to the head position.
Ha! Looks like a Canisius sophomore found its way onto this forum. In all seriousness I have been following Canisius athletics for the past decade under the alias "Main Street Milano" and I have to agree with some of your points. It appears Canisius have picked themselves up by their boot straps and escaped the dark times (the Andrew Perrault/ Dauphinee era) and transitioned into rough around the edges young team ready to pounce. In all seriousness young stars like Fenway(night hawk) Breckles and Noah (red dragon) Covert are looking promising this upcoming season if they can stay off reels. Should be interesting to see how the team performs.
I appreciate all the banter and fun, but all jokes aside Coach Todd would be an excellent fit for Canisius! His hard can do attitude is just what Canisius needs at this moment. If Canisius is able to secure Todd as a coach I can surely predict a Top 5 finish in the region! While Coach Todd (W) is at Manhattan currently he will definitely return to Buffalo and lead them to victory over his previous squad UB! Todd is an excellent coach...I know many haters would disagree but my I ask you...Can you do what he does?
Woooo a scary 5th place for mens and women's teams at the MAAC last year. Such a great hire by UB... not to mention screwing over your team by leaving at the last second, says a lot about what he thinks about his team...
Seriously he took over Canisius and in 3 years put them in a permanent state of mediocrity. Time to take those talents over to the OTHER Buffalo school in a permanent state of mediocrity. What a joke.

I’m not sure if this was written by a student-athlete or someone who wanted the job at UB but this is just sad. Scheving is a great who will help make a positive difference at UB. There are good coaches on teams that don’t win Conference champs etc- just boils down to the support your program has from admin and fundraising and how easy it is to attract talent. Buffalo is a bigger name than Canisius and it likely paid him more to be an assistant there than head at Canisius.
Gonzaga would be better off giving a player on the court an additional $75000 instead of filling this BS position.
How many basketball and football coaches do you need? If more mid majors cut down on the number of $80,000/yr coaches/admin and had a lean staff they could find a way to actually pay their players.
Looks like the salary at Canisius is a few grand more than what the UB position made in 2023, definitely could move up to the head UB coach eventually but seems like a pretty horizontal change as of now. Tyler Scheving seems to have done a great job recruiting this past few years including this years pair of 1:53 guys and had multiple freshmen running sub 15 5ks last year. seems weird to leave that work behind.

Way better resources at UB. Canisus in terms of resources is the bottom of the bottom
