Given your apparently defective reasoning abilities, I can imagine you having no doubt about such poorly established positions.
There are clips of his kid Baron teaching advanced college math. he’s a freshman. to portray the Trumps as stupid, or some variation of, is a non starter. Nobody on this site, intellectually speaking of the economy, can approach what Trump has could put on his resume. He’s earned his stripes. Now we let him go to work. China will not rule the World economically. We will and Liberation Day was yesterday.
You keep providing evidence for my point about your reasoning ability. I have not attempted to “portray the Trumps as stupid.” Baron’s education or intelligence, along with that of DJT’s uncle, may be tangentially related to the intelligence of other family members, but they are unto themselves no proof one way or the other. Let’s leave it with DJT. What “he has put on his resume” relates to intelligence much as a social media runfluencer outearning an Olympian relates to running ability.
Joe Biden has put on his resume a series of accomplishments that dwarf those of people here (and of nearly everyone else in the world). Are you prepared to say that is evidence of his brilliance?
You assert that DJT was at the top of his class at Wharton. I say I see no evidence for that.
There is a much longer argument one can make to indicate that he is likely a person of little more than moderately above average intelligence, although that’s difficult to assess from afar, because his personality defects appear to cause him to say nonsensical things that often override whatever genuine thinking he might be able to apply to a given situation. Yet you are priving yourself resistant to facts and reasoning, so that’s not an argument worth taking up. Lest you try to claim that I’m ducking the chance to offer one, you should have no trouble — or perhaps a person of reasonable intellectual ability, a modicum of intellectual honesty, and the bare minimum of research skills should have no trouble — finding a number of instances online of people making at least a fairly reasonable case that the guy just isn’t all that bright or well educated.
Dems and Repubs in congress, if replaced by random average h.s. Student Council members from every state, would greatly improve government effectiveness and honesty.
Democrats are the stupid party and Republicans are the evil party.
I guess given recent tariff news (and, like, the Iraq war), I need to adjust this.
Democrats are the stupid party and Republicans are the stupid and evil party.
Pretty simple. When you are running $2 trillion annual deficits while only bringing in $5 trillion in annual revenue, you need to do two things or continue to spiral towards default: increase tax revenue and decrease spending. Trump is essentially trying to do both. Biden mostly increased spending while minimally increasing revenue, which is a big reason we had inflation and the value of your money declined over 20% during his time in office (which is worse than a tax).
You’re demonstrating your absolute ignorance. Tariffs will be massively inflationary (which is apparently worse than a tax!). Furthermore, the big reason we had inflation during Biden’s first few years was Trump’s complete mismanagement of COVID. If Biden’s spending caused inflation then why did inflation come down so much over the last few years with no decrease in spending?
Stimulus from the American Rescue Plan was mostly front loaded, which is why inflation spiked and then tapered (as money multiplier impacts ebbed). Tariffs aren’t true inflation, they are taxation. Imports are more expensive, but the intrinsic value of your currency is not less (as happens when the government prints money to pay off its debt obligations). Understand the difference.
so great that transsexuals have been shown their place. Small cost to pay:
NEWS: Whirlpool Corp. announces Iowa's largest layoff of 2025 in Amana manufacturing facility. Nearly 1/3 of the company’s workforce in the Iowa facility will be let go due to current market conditions.
“Job cut announcements were dominated last month by DOGE plans to eliminate positions in the federal government. It would have otherwise been a fairly quiet month for layoffs,”

You'll pardon me if I'm less than persuaded by that...strangely worded comment. It was not enhanced by the placement of the word "intellectual" in the same context as "Trump." Brrr.

Reagan imposed a cap on the number of vehicles Japan could sell to the US to try and save the US auto industry. US automakers responded by . . . cutting more jobs. Knowing that they did not have to compete with Japan, the US automakers restricted supply and raised prices to boost profits. Trump's tariffs have a bit of a different effect, but will have the same result. Automakers who do not have to pay the 25% tariff will still raise prices to boost profits. When your competitor is having to hike prices by 25% or more, you would be an idiot if you didn't follow suit just so you can boost profits. So, the auto industry will cut production to maintain high prices and just stick it to the consumer. Automakers learned during the pandemic that people are willing to pay a lot more in monthly payments to get into a vehicle and were also willing to finance all the way out to 84 months (which is insane).
