It’s busywork because it doesn’t result in anything that any of you can point to. Or can you?
I worked as a landman a while back in charge of drilling wells. I didn't even see my boss for 4 years because we were in different cities. He was in Houston with the client. I would send a weekly report on Monday to him and he would delete my name and add his and submit to the client.
The report included progress on different wells, progress on the pipelines, what the surveyors were up to, compensation of surface owners and mineral owners, what was happening at the drill site(s), etc., etc. Again, updated weekly. Invaluable to my boss and to the client.
Was I just wasting my time?
You were not not a good employee and you needed to be monitored
farmers vote to get rid of all the illegal aliens...except their own. half of their workforce is illegal. They of course need to keep their own, silly! How are they supposed to operate a farm without illegal workers?
farmers vote for tariffs, but scream and yell if any tariffs hurt them. And of course they get bailed out when tariffs do in fact hurt them.
all the while, getting huge taxpayer subsidies so they can run their businesses.
politically, farmers are babies, kindergartners, massive failures as citizens of a republic.
classic m'agas.

It might take you a while. But I predict that even you will eventually come to understand that Trump is fucqing up the country so badly that people don’t want to come here.
Tourism, employment, visiting family, attending universities, work internships.

That’s up to your employer to decide whether it is a value add. Sounds like it was valuable to the clients. If that had been forwarded to the government in addition to your boss, what would that have accomplished?
Now, in the example of Musk mandating every federal employee send this to DOGE, what did that accomplish?
Just a little basic math here for the people who do not understand tariffs. Companies import goods and they pay the tariff on receipt of goods. This is a cost to them that they pass on to their customers by raising prices. So an annual increase of $697B in tariffs divided by 345M people in the USA = $2020 per person since we are the customers. In other words, our cost of living is going up $2k per person per year on average.
Of course, that does not include the effect of retaliatory tariffs which will hurt the value of the dollar abroad, decrease sales of US products abroad, thereby weakening our economy.
It is more complex than this, but the pain will not be short term. It takes years to build factories if that is actually the goal. And US labor will never be as cheap as current foreign labor, especially if we deport the cheaper labor we have. So costs will go up permanently for Americans.
Thank you for that. Here are some more side effects.
1. Some companies can’t pass on the increases so they close their doors and the workers no longer have jobs.
2. More out of work people mean less demand for products. 3. less demand means economic recession
A Trump recession is the best way to prevent Trump inflation. He has the best policies!

It showed that the employee could justify keeping his or her job. If they refused to comply with the directive, then they lose their job.

The USPS loses money every year. It lost almost $10 billion last year. The status quo obviously is not working. Maybe stirring things up a bit might help things there. Too much complacency - take a whack at the bee hive.

So spending more money having every employee send a weekly email into the ether will make them profitable?

Where’s the list of everyone they fired for noncompliance with a response email to DOGE? Or a summary report for these firings?
I was responsible for all phases site development/construction for cell sites and towers & antennas. My reponsibilities were YUUGE.
What did you do, work as a cashier at the Piggly-Wiggly?
7 figure budgets? You're a few zeros short of mattering unless this was a summer internship.
Are you the reason cell coverage sucks and still costs so much? No wonder telecom companies keep fighting any municipal projects that would cost less to build and operate, while providing superior service.

The mess of a roaring stock market, low inflation, and low unemployment. Sounds like quite the mess.
