Why is Sears not as a profitable a company as they were in the 1950’s? With all the people in the world there should be enough money to keep them afloat. Why hasn’t IBM been as prominent as they were in the 1960’s? I mean they did invent the first cpu! Ridiculous that people don’t respect history! We should all be up in arms and shout how good things use to be!

Sears went bankrupt because of POOR MANAGEMENT. They failed to adapt with the times, just like blockbuster video.
IBM is actually doing better than ever, their stock prices hit massive all time highs in 2025.
The answer is that Missouri is producing crappy results due to crappy management. PERIOD.

Mike Ashton took a position at Penn State coaching vertical jumps. Army asks a lot of their assistants, mandating they call 200 recruits per month, has to take a toll. Average coaching tenure as an assistant at Army is less than 2 years.

Heard things went south when she didn't know the hurdle spacing to set up for practice!
Everyone should realize that the AD will hire who the AD wants to hire, and often that doesn't include a complete or fair search of the candidates. That's the reality. We don't do ourselves any favors by accepting Jobs at 35 or 40K. Search these pages, and look at the announcements. Rarely is there a profession looking headshot involved- Most look like they just rolled out of bed.

The NCAA at least as we know it is dying. AD's know they're not going to have to keep their track/XC programs around long but can't cut'em yet. So why invest in an adult with experience when you can have a kid babysit for $35k a year?

200 a month? Thats 7 recruits a day. How is that even a reasonable expectation? Who can coach and have that many conversations (let alone keep track of) with that many people a day/month? Thats a full time job in itself.

A great deal of people get on here to truly know what jobs are posted for opportunities for themselves, to assist others and to update the community when a job is filled. But, on the other hand there are people that get on here and bash/trash others. Which is sad because our community should be supportive and happy for one another.
Congratulations on the job. Regardless there will always be naysayers. But, just because you were posted doesn’t mean you don’t have supporters.
