I see a big and sad difference. Hitler never had massive voter support nor did his party have majority representation. He was appointed to power and changed the rules to take full power. His nazi crew were also going around beating up and murdering political opponents. The German people rightfully take a lot of the blame, but there is that caveat in Hitler's rise to power.
What we are watching with Trump supporters is worse because even after seeing what he is there are too many voters willingly giving him power. Its almost half of the voting population supporting him.. and while it's not a majority he did get sufficient EC votes to get in the WH. There are similarities with Germany of course but the most important part is the changing of the rules.
We are still in that phase. With the help of the GOP, Trump has rigged the SCOTUS, they have rigged their own party elections for him, and they are actively rigging the local state rules to put up their own fake delegates who will claim to lawfully stage a coup by backing the loser instead. And rest assured they will try this.
Ironically their SCOTUS rigging may backfire still. If they pull the EC coup stunt, the Ds may decide to take advantage of the absolute immunity granted to Biden and Harris by the SCOTUS. In the end, they have possession of the WH.
