Well with the new NCAA transfer legislation coming being passed it will make it easier for the Powell’s to recruit their Oregon distance kids to Washington along with other schools athletes, like they normally do. Expect Washington’s roster to look much like Oregon’s

Elevating coach Roberts is the smartest thing they could do. Retreads at the distance assistant level usually gets a program nowhere. They just move on in 2-3 years tops, leaving the program in a mess. Roberts will recruit hard to a school he has roots with.
The only positions I've seen posted, was LSU and Hawaii, that was a while back. Haven't heard anything on either of them.

Happens a lot (I have been through it myself). For administration to get the head coach they want they often have to allow the coach to have complete control over their staff.
You often loose the top applicants as an AD if you insist a new head maintain the old assistants.
Some of it might also have to do with the university’s investigation of Metcalf... if it turned out the assistants, especially for the distance squad, knew or should have known about his shenanigans and stayed silent, as it appears they did, then they’re going down with the ship regardless.

No. There is no need to speculate anything other than what has been said; New head coach = new staff....unless they choose to retain someone because they didn't have someone else in mind for the position.
