Nobody knows. Not sure if the folks that fired him at FSU are still around. All I know is that he was let go for similar reasons, tried to take down the head coach so he can take over. At least that’s the rumor. I don’t know him personally but I know folks from FSU and UGa. Maybe he gets the FSU job as he has had success this year while at Auburn. Maybe not. I highly doubt anyone in here knows.

Start a new thread about FSU please! This is about college openings and not just endless posts about FSU and bashing a coach! This gets old!
“Going in a different direction” “not renewing your contract” “getting let go” it’s all the same thing
Yes and no, in the corporate world being fired is very different than being let go or contract not being renewed - ask any hiring employer. Being let go or fired typical results from wrong doing, not following a company policy, and happens on the stop with the case being explained. If there was some major wrong doing/ncaa violation it would have been self reported and given as the reason. In this case or all cases with contracts that expire the employer has the option to not renew typically due to some metrics… usually performance base. (We all know that wasn’t the case at FSU). It’s the easy way out as there isn’t a need for cause, you simple do not renew. For all we know every coach whose contact is up and doesn’t get renewed is fired/let go?
There is 1. resigning of your own accord, then 2. everything else, which includes being asked to resign or retire.
Newman seems to make a lot of noise for himself to put himself in these positions, but unable to score points at NCAA or SEC. Absolutely no consistency. Should not be that hard at Auburn or anywhere else in the SEC. Auburn would have won nationals if one athlete would have scored in the jumps.
Yes, the athletic department at Vandy is just one big DEI project. They don't even pretend to try, despite that big $EC money.
You must not be paying attention because they're spending like $350 million on athletics facilities upgrades as I type this. An entirely new basketball practice/operations building, a massive upgrade to the football stadium, and they've announced huge upgrades to the baseball stadium as well
Vandy was really good at women's XC in like 2011 and then Steve Keith got sick. They should be good at distance running given the city and degree they can sell to recruits
They fired Keith and then decided to start recruiting sprinters.. at Vandy? They seriously think they will compete vs LSU FL and TX?????
That school SHOULD be a distance running power. Great academics, SEC competition, great city (not some crap college town) easy to travel to and from, not far from anywhere in the east. I decent distance coach should be able to to turn that school into something special in just a few seasons. I think they just went in the completely wrong direction (sprint v distance.)

Who takes over at Colorado. Does it have to be a coach with altitude experience or podium experience in XC. Or do they go in a completely different direction?
