How do you handle two rats? You chop the head off one rat, and you still have another one ratting around, busting people.

Total panic, everyone eyeballing everyone, some finger pointing, people puking, people playing both ends against the middle, sucking up to Trump. Team Trump cannot conduct any business whatsoever with these unidentified rats scurrying around the Trump compound. They could be anywhere at any time. Who do you trust? You can't trust anyone. The atmosphere is dark. The bottom line is Team Trump must find these rats before the Feds can get even more intel on Trump out of them.

The justice department is telegraphing that this is going to lead to a prosecution. I think Trump's camp knows where this is going to head, so they're focused exclusively on a jury nullification strategy.

it is astonishing how trump has led a life of crime for 60 years and mostly gotten away with it. He is a truly gifted criminal. One of the most talented this country has ever seen.
but it does look like he's in the Star Wars garbage compressor, with the walls pushing in on him from many directions. Will be hard for him to scoot this time. Can't bribe a NY prosecutor any more.
Georgia is the real problem for him. His lawyer will be indicted and probably trump himself.
But I'm sure no jury will ever convict him - he's a white messiah to many.

Exactly, I couldn't agree more - not sure why people were so upset that I wrote quote "absolutely nothing will happen and it's a horrific waste of taxpayer money" that could be much better spent elsewhere.

Other than travel expenses, there was no additional cost for the DOJ’s caper. You could say they can find better ways to spend their time, but there is no billion dollar budget behind the retrieval of the documents.

I never said that. In fact, I said the opposite a page or so back. I don't think the DOJ will ultimately charge him because of the politics involved with charging a former president, especially this one who essentially threatens violence.

But he's more worried than you think or that he pretends. And the rat situation is spiking his blood pressure and making him vomitous. Can you imagine having multiple rats backchanneling the enemy every time you duck into the baffroom? Jesus Christ.

It is "horrific" for a Justice Department to hold that no one is above the law, including a former President who invited an insurrection, denies the results of elections and has stolen documents relating to his country's national security? You might want to consider what is truly "horrific" here. Like your contempt for maintaining the rule of law. Herr, Stichmo.

It's an absolute "piece of garbage" that he is the first President in US history to be subject to a search by the FBI on the basis of breaches of the criminal law? Trump has been trying to persuade Garland to back off, so he isn't as sanguine about it all as you suggest.

Trump has yet to address the crux of the issue. Trump lied, through his attorney, by saying he no longer had possession of any classified documents. He could have chosen to return them or to explain why it was OK for him to retain them, but he chose to lie. Why did he do that?
