They were literally last at SECs. How can you attach your name to anything and be that bad at it.
At least try a little even if it’s just half a scholarship, that’s better than showing everyone you don’t care about 1/3 of your job. Just drop the XC team if it doesn’t matter…..
Bad hire after bad hire, she is 3/3 on coaches who recruit talent not develop it.
Yeah because USC cared that she took last in XC every year at USF & almost won NCAA Track so paid her a lot more to come win NCAA's at USC. And Georgia must have really cared that she took last every year in XC at USC & paid her a whole lot more to come win track at Georgia.
And if you're a P2 coach trying to develop talent instead of recruit it, you're going to get fired faster than Caryl fires distance coaches. And I'm a distance coach too...stop making the rest of us sound like whiney b!tches. You embarrass us.

This sounds personal. Several directors and head coaches lean to their strengths and possibilities. We see it all the time with top distance programs going all in and struggling to keep up on track and field.
Really? Did you really mean to say there’s not enough talent in the whole USA to build a team, so you have to look off shores?
There are lots of good reasons to recruit foreign athletes, but this doesn’t seem like one of them.
Have you recruited to Louisiana? The state has over 10 DI schools and the in state talent is sparse; especially in the distances. Outside of poorer Texas kids, Americans don't want to go there for school. International recruiting is a must, unless you resign yourself to defeat.
This. Most American kids would rather be a walk-on at some name P5 state school than get a scholarship to ULM. A lot of the time, when a small school develops a kid into a national contender then they’re in the portal asap to try to go somewhere way cooler.
Join the Montana State University Athletic Department to be a part of the team in a student-centered learning environment distinguished by innovation and discovery in a Rocky Mountain setting!

And no one wants to live in a 3rd world theocratic sh!thole. Unless of course you’re really desperate for any “DI” job.
Haha, Georgia XC is a laugh. Caryl has got to be the worst director in the country. She thinks investing in distance means you can’t win. I guess she has never heard of John Mcdonald and his 40 titles that always included distance points.
She will be fired soon, no way Georgia supports getting last in anything.
Continually hires coaches with no track record of developing American’s or low level talent kids.
Last three coaches have only had success with full scholarship distance athletes.
Translation: I only care about mediocre American distance kids and any coach whose philosophy contradicts that philosophy is bad

its almost like Caryl doesnt care about developing a 9:15 guy into a 14:10 guy who wont score. Imagine that
No no. She absolutely must prioritize mediocre American distance runners. That is the only way to build a program
He wasn’t fired, his contract wasn’t renewed… yes many will say it the same thing by its different, the head coach just wanted to go into a different direction with coaches I assume.

“Going in a different direction” “not renewing your contract” “getting let go” it’s all the same thing

Yes and no, in the corporate world being fired is very different than being let go or contract not being renewed - ask any hiring employer. Being let go or fired typical results from wrong doing, not following a company policy, and happens on the stop with the case being explained. If there was some major wrong doing/ncaa violation it would have been self reported and given as the reason. In this case or all cases with contracts that expire the employer has the option to not renew typically due to some metrics… usually performance base. (We all know that wasn’t the case at FSU). It’s the easy way out as there isn’t a need for cause, you simple do not renew. For all we know every coach whose contact is up and doesn’t get renewed is fired/let go?

If you don’t know the answer why comment? The original question was who got hired or if anyone did, not this dumb s**t. Ken is not a bad person but at the end of the day he was not retained at FSU for a reason. The same thing happened at UGA & Tennessee.
