I don't understand why people post jobs when we all know coaches already know who they hiring . especially the big name schools .
I’ve experimented with the NCAA on numerous occasions. I’ve gotten interviewed for bigger jobs and passed on completely for smaller jobs. I’ve been hired at a better gig and passed on a crappy on where I assumed I must of been viewed as overqualified or they already had someone in mind.
When you have a job it’s nothing to apply and see what happens. It is mostly about networking because that’s how it’s done at schools that have a name behind them. If they don’t, most likely it is a comprehensive search because that AD/HC also doesn’t have a network they are recluse so they have to do things comprehensively which takes more work.
Well deserved for Brody. Dude has worked his ass off at one of the least resourced G5 schools in the NCAA.
Considering nearly all of their athletes are international, they clearly have plenty of scholarships available.
ULM (like most every Sun Belt school) is fully funded, has the ability to stack scholarships with fairly generous academic aid, and might possibly have aid beyond scholarships (COA/allston/etc.).
But ULM is tight on operations budget, coaching salaries, and recruiting resources (all of the Sun Belt is, except maybe JMU, but ULM may have it the hardest). On top of that they are in the deep south which can make recruiting very tough in some events (think distances). And because everyone wants to be DI football in Dixie there are proportionally way more DI schools down south. Have to go international...not enough talent to go around.
Brody has done well at ULM. He may have more available to him at UCF, but I also think the difference between have and have nots is much bigger in the Big 12 than in the Sun Belt. We'll see how he does.

ULM will be a much better program once that HC retires, my god that guy is awful!

Really? Did you really mean to say there’s not enough talent in the whole USA to build a team, so you have to look off shores?
There are lots of good reasons to recruit foreign athletes, but this doesn’t seem like one of them.
Haha, Georgia XC is a laugh. Caryl has got to be the worst director in the country. She thinks investing in distance means you can’t win. I guess she has never heard of John Mcdonald and his 40 titles that always included distance points.
She will be fired soon, no way Georgia supports getting last in anything.
Continually hires coaches with no track record of developing American’s or low level talent kids.
Last three coaches have only had success with full scholarship distance athletes.

Have you recruited to Louisiana? The state has over 10 DI schools and the in state talent is sparse; especially in the distances. Outside of poorer Texas kids, Americans don't want to go there for school. International recruiting is a must, unless you resign yourself to defeat.

its almost like Caryl doesnt care about developing a 9:15 guy into a 14:10 guy who wont score. Imagine that
They were literally last at SECs. How can you attach your name to anything and be that bad at it.
At least try a little even if it’s just half a scholarship, that’s better than showing everyone you don’t care about 1/3 of your job. Just drop the XC team if it doesn’t matter…..
Bad hire after bad hire, she is 3/3 on coaches who recruit talent not develop it.
