If you bring weapons to forcibly stop people making a lawful but very hateful demonstration you are a bad person.

If you demonstrate against those making a hateful demonstration you are a good person.

If you encourage and root people root people on who are illegally using violence you are a bad person.

Anyone who Marches with those chanting and advocating for hate you are a bad person.

So there may have been bad on both sides but there wasn't good on both sides.

The driver of that car was at a rally that was stopped by people who came to beat them in silence. The protesters started the violence, not the white supremacists.

If you are on the side of killing Jews, Muslims, gays, and people of color, you might just be wrong.

There were people there who simply didn't want the statue taken down, and who weren't part of the white supremacist group. I am not sure there were any anti-white supremacist protesters who protested peacefully. If there were then there were good people on both sides. If not, then the only good people were the pro-statue non-supremacists.

We need to make sure that everyone who pushes back against cultural cleansing isn't conflated with white supremacy. But of course, that's the goal of liberal activists.

The perfect solution to the confederate statue issue is to create a central location / museum to house all of them similar to what the Hungarians did with their USSR / Communist era statues....

I've been to this Park it's quite powerful. They have a whole indoor portion that tells the history (rise and fall) of the Soviet control of Hungary. They have these continuous loops of propaganda films used by the Hungarian secret police to recruit people. It's very interesting.

The same thing could be done for these confederate statues (most of which where actually put up more than 50 years after the Civil War BTW). They could be put in a central location with additional exhibits explaining how absolute terrible, morally corrupt, and treasonous the Confederacy was, so that younger generations learn the truth about those vile folks.

This way no one can be accused of "cultural cleansing" since nothing is being destroyed and the accurate, fact based history is conveyed about this topic to younger generations. Don't you think this would be a good solution Mr. Disco?
